Compensation of magnetic disturbances caused by sensors in a differential magnetometric system
PublicationStudy of low magnetic fields necessitates the use of precision magnetometers working in a differential system. Minimization of this error is a substantial issue in the case of magnetometers working in a differential system on a mobile platform. The compensation method of heading error consists in taking measurements of changes in magnetic induction with the use of the tested magnetometer for various locations of the sensor in relation...

Pure cross-anisotropy for geotechnical elastic potentials
PublicationThe pure cross-anisotropy is understood as a special scaling of strain (or stress). The scaled tensor is used as an argument in the elastic stiffness (or compliance). Such anisotropy can be overlaid on the top of any elastic stiffness, in particular on one obtained from an elastic potential with its own stress-induced anisotropy. This superposition does not violate the Second Law. The method can be also applied to other functions...

A new approach to cross-bonding in medium voltage cable lines
PublicationThe medium voltage underground cable sheaths are usually bonded and earthed in every substation on the cable route. This results in additional power losses in the sheaths. The idea of sheaths cross-connecting only in selected MV/LV substations is given instead of a typical solution, where sheaths cross-bonding requires installing additional joints...

Antibody Cross-Reactivity in Serodiagnosis of Lyme Disease
PublicationLyme disease is a tick-borne disease caused by spirochetes belonging to the Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato complex. The disease is characterized by a varied course; therefore, the basis for diagnosis is laboratory methods. Cross-Bonding of MV Cable Lines for Energy Losses Decrease
PublicationCurrently, almost all medium voltage cable lines (MV) operate with the return wires earthed at both ends of the cable. Such a way of operation causes that during normal states of operation as well as during disturbances, e.g. short-circuits, in the return wires induce currents whose values mainly depend on the currents flowing in the phase wires. These currents in normal operating states are a source of additional energy losses...
