THE USE OF FEM FOR DETERMINATION OF RESONANT FREQUENCIES OF CIRCULAR SAW BLADES WITH INDIRECT TEETH IN GULLETS
PublicationUnderstanding the dynamical properties of the circular saw blade is necessary, since, there is a really need for a stable work at working rotational speeds, which are determined by frequencies at which the circular saw blade tends to vibrate. It was observed that the resonant frequency depend on the circular saw blade shape, a collar diameter and on saw’s teeth shape. In the presented work an attention was paid to the effect of...

Explanation of Reduction of Pressure Forces in Turbine Chamber Seals
PublicationThe paper describes a chamber seal reducing the aerodynamic forces created in shroud seals. Asymmetrical pressure distribution (due to rotor-stator eccentricity) in the blade tip clearance leads to the creation of pressure forces acting on the blade shroud. By increasing the volume above the shroud, the pressure distribution becomes more uniform on the whole shroud circumference and the effect of rotor eccentricity is reduced....

Calculation of an ultimate load value of a silo with geometric imperfections in the shape of eigenforms
PublicationThe ultimate load value of a silo with initial geometric imperfections was measured. The structure was loaded with wind. Imperfections were assumed as translations of the shell nodes from perfect geometry taken from eigenforms and their combinations. Two variants of the maximum deflection placement with respect to the direction of wind pressure were proposed. The first consists in applying the maximum wind pressure to the element...

Dependence of Power Characteristics on Savonius Rotor Segmentation
PublicationSavonius rotors are large and heavy because they use drag force for propulsion. This leads to a larger investment in comparison to horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) rotors using lift forces. A simple construction of the Savonius rotor is preferred to reduce the production effort. Therefore, it is proposed here to use single-segment rotors of high elongation. Nevertheless, this rotor type must be compared with a multi-segment...
