Pokazano, że równanie to posiada unikalne własności transformacyjne względem inwersji w pewnej klasie hipersfer. Wykorzystano ten fakt do znalezienia zamkniętej postaci funkcji Greena, oraz uogólnionej funkcji Greena, dla wyjściowego równania.
