Implicit difference methods for first order partial differential functional equations

Implicit difference methods for nonlinear first order partial differential equations

Efficient analysis of structures with rotatable elements using model order reduction
PublikacjaThis paper presents a novel full-wave technique which allows for a fast 3D finite element analysis of waveguide structures containing rotatable tuning elements of arbitrary shapes. Rotation of these elements changes the resonant frequencies of the structure, which can be used in the tuning process to obtain the S-characteristics desired for the device. For fast commutations of the response as the tuning elements are rotated, the...

Geometry Parametric Model Order Reduction with Randomly Generated Projection Bases
PublikacjaIn this work, a reduced-order model for geometry parameters and fast frequency sweep is proposed. The Finite Element Method is used to solve time-harmonic Maxwell’s equations. Taking into account the electromagnetic field does not arbitrarily vary as a function of frequency and geometry parameters, a low dimension system manifold is identified. Thus, the original Finite Element problem can be approximated by a model of reduced...

All graphs with paired-domination number two less than their order
PublikacjaLet G=(V,E) be a graph with no isolated vertices. A set S⊆V is a paired-dominating set of G if every vertex not in S is adjacent with some vertex in S and the subgraph induced by S contains a perfect matching. The paired-domination number γp(G) of G is defined to be the minimum cardinality of a paired-dominating set of G. Let G be a graph of order n. In [Paired-domination in graphs, Networks 32 (1998), 199-206] Haynes and Slater...

High order of nongeminate recombination in organic bulk heterojunction solar cells
PublikacjaWe analyze high order of nongeminate recombination in organic donor–acceptor bulk heterojunction solar cells. The model of recombination where an exciton annihilates on an electron–hole Langevin bound pair near donor–acceptor interface has been applied in our studies. We obtained satisfactory agreement between experimental results and theoretical calculations for the concentration dependences of several parameters characterizing...

Method of lines for nonlinear first order partial functional differential equations.
PublikacjaClassical solutions of initial problems for nonlinear functional differential equations of Hamilton--Jacobi type are approximated by solutions of associated differential difference systems. A method of quasilinearization is adopted. Sufficient conditions for the convergence of the method of lines and error estimates for approximate solutions are given. Nonlinear estimates of the Perron type with respect to functional variables...

Homoclinic orbits for a class of singular second order Hamiltonian systems in ℝ3
PublikacjaWe consider a conservative second order Hamiltonian system \ddot{q}+ ∇V(q)=0 in R3 with a potential V having a global maximum at the origin and a line l ∩ {0} = ∅ as a set of singular points. Under a certain compactness condition on V at infinity and a strong force condition at singular points we study, by the use of variational methods and geometrical arguments, the existence of homoclinic solutions of the system.

Regularized Local Multivariate Reduced-Order Models With Nonaffine Parameter Dependence
PublikacjaThis paper addresses a singular problem, not yet discussed in the literature, which occurs when parametric reduced-order models are created using a subspace projection approach with multiple concatenated projection bases. We show that this technique may lead to the appearance of localized artifacts in the frequency characteristics of a system, even when the reduced-order projection basis is rich enough to describe the original...

Two almost homoclinic solutions for second-order perturbed Hamiltonian systems

Efficient model order reduction for FEM analysis of waveguide structures and resonators
PublikacjaAn efficient model order reduction method for three-dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of waveguide structures is proposed. The method is based on the Efficient Modal Order Reduction (ENOR) algorithm for creating macro-elements in cascaded subdomains. The resulting macro-elements are represented by very compact submatrices, leading to significant reduction of the overall number of unknowns. The efficiency of the model...

A mobile loop order–disorder transition modulates the speed of chaperonin cycling
PublikacjaMolecular machines order and disorder polypeptides as they form and dissolve large intermolecular interfaces, but the biological significance of coupled ordering and binding has been established in few, if any, macromolecular systems. The ordering and binding of GroES co-chaperonin mobile loops accompany an ATP-dependent conformational change in the GroEL chaperonin that promotes client protein folding. Following ATP hydrolysis,...

A Model-Order Reduction Approach for Electromagnetic Problems With Nonaffine Frequency Dependence
PublikacjaThe aim of this paper is to present a novel model-order reduction (MOR) technique for the efcient frequency-domain nite-element method (FEM) simulation of microwave components. It is based on the standard reduced-basis method, but the subsequent expansion frequency points are selected following the so-called sparsied greedy strategy. This feature makes it especially useful to perform a fast-frequency sweep of problems that lead...
