Rapid design optimization of compact couplers using response features and adjoint sensitivities
PublikacjaA technique for rapid EM-driven design optimization of compact microwave couplers is presented. Our approach exploits response features and adjoint sensitivities and allows for low-cost design closure both in terms of performance enhancement and structure miniaturization. It is demonstrated using a compact rat-race coupler working at 1 GHz and compared to adjoint-based gradient optimization.

Determination of the shape of the CFGFT cylindrical column based on laboratory tests
PublikacjaAnalyses were carried out on glass-fibre-reinforced polymer tube columns with reference to laboratory tests. The angles of the glass fibre beams were 20◦, 55◦ and 85◦. The study employed non-classical operational calculus. Various modulated harmonic signal shapes were considered for columns and tubes at buckling. The buckling loads were assessed and compared for different models.

Influence of accelerometer signal pre-processing and classification method on human activity recognition
PublikacjaA study of data pre-processing influence on accelerometer-based human activity recognition algorithms is presented. The frequency band used to filter-out the accelerometer signals and the number of accelerometers involved were considered in terms of their influence on the recognition accuracy. In the test four methods of classification were used: support vector machine, decision trees, neural network, k-nearest neighbor.

Using GPUs for Parallel Stencil Computations in Relativistic Hydrodynamic Simulation
PublikacjaThis paper explores the possibilities of using a GPU for complex 3D finite difference computation. We propose a new approach to this topic using surface memory and compare it with 3D stencil computations carried out via shared memory, which is currently considered to be the best approach. The case study was performed for the extensive computation of collisions between heavy nuclei in terms of relativistic hydrodynamics.

Purely quantum superadditivity of classical capacities of quantum multiple access channels
PublikacjaWe are studying classical capacities of quantum memoryless multiaccess channels in geometric terms and we are revealing a break of additivity of the Holevo-like capacity. This effect is a purely quantum mechanical one, since, as we point out, the capacity regions of all classical memoryless multiaccess channels are additive. It is the first such effect revealed in the field of classical information transmission via quantum channels.

THE INFLUENCE OF PHASE SHIFTERS ON THE VOLTAGE STABILITY OF CONNECTED POWER SYSTEMS
PublikacjaThe paper presents the results of simulation tests of connected power systems in which phase shifters were installed on cross-border links. The analysis was carried out in terms of assessing the impact of shifters on node voltage stability. Individual systems were characterized by different balance of active power: deficit or excess. The evaluation of voltage stability was based on the dU/dQ and dU/dP criteria.

Clarke duality for Hamiltonian systems with nonstandard growth
PublikacjaWe consider the existence of periodic solutions to Hamiltonian systems with growth conditions involving G-function. We introduce the notion of symplectic G-function and provide relation for the growth of Hamiltonian in terms of certain constant CG associated to symplectic G-function G. The model generalizes spin-1/2 singlet state probabilities discussed in Czachor (Acta Physica Polonica:139 70–83, 2021) to arbitrary spins s.
