Electron energy-loss spectroscopy of excited states of the pyridine molecules
PublikacjaElectron energy-loss spectra of the pyridine, C5H5N, molecules in the gas phase have been measured to investigate electronic excitation in the energy range 3.5–10 eV. The applied wide range of residual electron energy and the scattering angle range from 10 ◦ to 180 ◦ enabled to differentiate between optically-allowed and -forbidden transitions. These measurements have allowed vertical excitation energies of the triplet excited...

A perfect hashing incremental scheme for unranked trees using pseudo-minimal automata
PublikacjaWe describe a technique that maps unranked trees to arbitrary hash codes using a bottom-up deterministic tree automaton (DTA). In contrast to other hashing techniques based on automata, our procedure builds a pseudo-minimal DTA for this purpose. A pseudo-minimal automaton may be larger than the minimal one accepting the same language but, in turn, it contains proper elements (states or transitions that are unique) for every input...

Computer-Aided Design of Railroad Horizontal Arc Areas in Adapting to Satellite Measurements
PublikacjaThis paper presents a method of designing railway sections located in horizontal arcs. The adopted procedure is universal, i.e., it creates the possibility of varying both the type and the length of the assumed transition curves. This means that the applied analytical formulas apply to the boundary conditions of the transition curves and all of the simplifications widely existing in common algorithms have been eliminated. The presented...

PublikacjaTransformation products (TPs) may be formed during various processes, however, it was proved that one of the main mechanisms responsible for degradation of pharmaceuticals in natural waters is photolysis. Three compounds were selected, tetracycline (TC), 17-α-ethinylestradiol (EE2) and naproxen (NAP), for degradation experiments which were performed using a xenon lamp emitting light with a spectrum closely approximating that of...

Unraveling the role of boron dimers in the electrical anisotropy and superconductivity in boron-doped diamond
PublikacjaWe use quantum mechanics (QM) to determine the states formed by B dopants in diamond. We find that isolated B sites prefer to form BB dimers and that the dimers pair up to form tetramers (BBCBB) that prefer to aggregate parallel to the (111) surface in the <110> direction, one double layer below the H-terminated surface double layer. These tetramers lead to metallic character (Mott metal Insulator Transition) with holes in the...

On phase equilibrium of an elastic liquid shell with wedge disclination
PublikacjaBased on the six-parameter shell theory we consider the phase equilibrium of a two-phase liquid membrane containing a wedge disclination. The considered problems are related to modelling of phase transitions in biological or lipid membranes. In order to capture the membrane behaviour we consider a special case of elastic shells which energy is invariant under major transformations of a reference configuration and can be treated...

Instead of displaying sudden-death-type behavior, the geometric discord shows a tendency to undergo transitions between different types of decay, is sensitive to nonlocal...

The asymmetric Diels-Alder reaction is among the most powerful available methodologies for that construction of optically...
