DDLMS PCR double digestion Ligation Mediated Suppression PCR - a new technique for bacterial specific differentiation
PublikacjaA new diagnostic kit for K. oxytoca specific differentiation based on ddLMS PCR (ang. double digest ligation Mediated PCR) technique is shown. As a species-specific DNA fragment pehX gene, encoding the enzyme polygalactouronase, was chosen. The genome sequence of K. oxytoca is digested with two endonucleases: AclI and BclI which cut DNA before and after pehX gene. The polymorphic DNA fragments are ligated with AclI-end-specific...

Influence of Fluid Compressibility and Movements of the Swash Plate Axis of Rotation on the Volumetric Efficiency of Axial Piston Pumps
PublikacjaThis paper describes the design of a swash plate axial piston pump and the theoretical models describing the bulk modulus of aerated and non-aerated fluids. The dead space volume is defined and the influence of this volume and the fluid compressibility on the volumetric efficiency of the pump is considered. A displacement of the swash plate rotation axis is proposed to reduce the dead space volume for small swash plate swing angles....

Using water sources extent during inundation as a reliable predictor for vegetation zonation in a natural wetland floodplain
PublikacjaDistinctive zones of inundation water during floods were shown to originate from different sources in some major floodplains around the world. Recent research showed that the zonation of water in rivers and floodplains is related to vegetation patterns. In spite of this, water source zones were not used for vegetation modeling due to difficulties in their delineation. In this study, we used simulation results of a fully-coupled...

The Influence of Titania Electrode Modification with Lanthanide Ions Containing Thin Layer on the Performance of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
PublikacjaThe lanthanide and scandium groups ions (except Pm and Ac) have been used as dopants of TiO2 film in dye-sensitized solar cells. The X-ray diffraction spectra show that the modification has no influence on the structure of the electrode; however, the diffuse reflectance UV-Vis measurements exhibit significant changes in the electronic properties of modified electrodes. A dual-control strategy based on electrode material and electrolyte optimization to construct an asymmetric supercapacitor with high energy density
PublikacjaMetal-organic frames (MOFs) are regarded as excellent candidates for supercapacitors that have attracted much attention because of their diversity, adjustability and porosity. However, both poor structural stability in aqueous alkaline electrolytes and the low electrical conductivity of MOF materials constrain their practical implementation in supercapacitors. In this study, bimetallic CoNi-MOF were synthesized to enhance the electrical...

A large family of filled skutterudites stabilized by electron count
PublikacjaThe Zintl concept is important in solid-state chemistry to explain how some compounds that combine electropositive and main group elements can be stable at formulas that at their simplest level do not make any sense. The electronegative elements in such compounds form a polyatomic electron-accepting molecule inside the solid, a ‘polyanion’, that fills its available energy states with electrons from the electropositive elements...
