Effect of crystallinity on structural, thermal, and in vitro dissolution properties of Na2O-CaO-Nb2O5/MgO-P2O5 glass-ceramics
PublicationThe impact of the crystallinity on structural, thermal, and in vitro dissolution properties were examined for Na2O- CaO-Nb2O5/MgO-P2O5 glasses/glass-ceramics. Glass-ceramics were synthesized via a spontaneous crystallization process. The Nb content in the materials increased with melting temperature, furthermore, the crystallinity is proportional to the Nb content. The presence of crystalline niobates and phosphates is confirmed...

Modelling method for a class of distributed-lumped parameter systems
PublicationThe paper presents an alternative approach for modelling and order reduction of continuous system. The proposed methodology combines application of two methods: the modal decomposition method and the rigid finite element method. The given continuous structure is divided into 1D continuous substructures. For each 1D substructure modal decomposition and reduction procedure is applied. Interactions between substructures are described...

Asynchronous distributed state estimation based on covariance intersection

On the complexity of distributed graph coloring with local minimality constraints

Simulation of Parallel Applications on Large-scale Distributed Systems
PublicationThis chapter has a form of a review article in the field of simulating High-Performance Computing systems. We justify the need for a new versatile simulator considering heterogeneity, energy efficiency and reliability of HPC systems. We sketch the problems that need to be solved by such simulator and rationalize using discrete-event simulation for this purpose. Based on a review of existing discrete-event HPC simulation solutions...

Distributed Representations Based on Geometric Algebra: the Continuous Model
PublicationAuthors revise the concept of a distributed representation of data as well as two previously developed models: Holographic Reduced Representation (HRR) and Binary Spatter Codes (BSC). A Geometric Analogue (GAc - ''c'' stands for continuous as opposed to its discrete version) of HRR is introduced - it employs role-filler binding based on geometric products. Atomic objects are real-valued vectors in n-dimensional Euclidean space...
