On the geometrically nonlinear vibration of a piezo-flexomagnetic nanotube
PublicationIn order to describe the behavior of thin elements used in MEMS and NEMS, it is essential to study a nonlinear free vibration of nanotubes under complicated external fields such as magnetic environment. In this regard, the magnetic force applied to the conductive nanotube with piezo-flexomagnetic elastic wall is considered. By the inclusion of Euler-Bernoulli beam and using Hamilton’s principle, the equations governing the system...

Multiple Solutions to Third-Order Differential Equations with Derivative Dependence and Deviating Arguments
PublicationIn this paper, we give some new results for multiplicity of positive (nonnegative) solutions for third-order differential equations with derivative dependence, deviating arguments and Stieltjes integral boundary conditions. We discuss our problem with advanced argument α and arbitrary β ∈ C([0,1],[0,1]), see problem (2). It means that argument β can change the character on [0,1], so β can be delayed in some set J ⊂ [0,1] and advanced...

Distillery Wastes as External Carbon Sources for Denitrification in Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants
PublicationIn order to improve efficiency of N removal within the existing capacities, the denitrification process can be enhanced by adding external carbon sources. The studies on utilization of various by-products or waste materials as alternative carbon sources for denitrification have been carried out for over 20 years (Sage et al. 2006). Among several commercially available organic compounds (such as methanol, ethanol, acetic acid, glucose),...

The presented algorithm locates unstable zeros of the characteristic equation with their multiplicities. The proposed method is generic and can be applied to a vast range of systems. Verification of...

Then, we introduce and prove the fundamental properties of electromagnetic field in FO electromagnetics, i.e. energy conservation, uniqueness of solutions, and reciprocity. Furthermore, the algorithm of the plane wave simulation...

We report here a systematic study on the use of coal samples of varying carbon contents as adsorbents for removing Basic Blue 41 as a model cationic dye. The coal samples were collected from coal mines and were thoroughly characterized. The concentrations...

Orthogonality relations for the associated Legendre functions of imaginary order
PublicationOrthogonality relations for the associated Legendre functions of imaginary order are derived. They are expressed in terms of the Dirac delta function. The method is based on some known properties of the associated Legendre functions and the Dirac delta distribution. A special case of one of the relations has appeared in some recent applications.
