E-cohousing
PublicationCohousing, one of the attempts to create housing community, has been successfully practised for many years in many countries. Cohousing creates social bonds. It's a self-creating movement in which everything relies on the community engaged. Oriented ecological cohousing (e-cohousing) teaches responsibility for oneself, the others and the environment.

Own or public? Later livelihoods of Ukrainian war migrant households in Poland
PublicationThis paper presents empirical research on the livelihood resources of Ukrainian households that fled to Poland due to the Russian invasion and reside there long term. Using a nationwide sample of these households and an accurate econometric framework, we investigate the factors influencing the role of income from work, other private resources and public assistance in covering their living costs in exile. Our findings confirm the...

An advanced Thermal-FSI approach to flow heating/cooling
PublicationActually, two-way thermal-energy exchange between working fluid and solid material of a casing is a leading problem for modern – semi automatic – design techniques. Many questions should be solved, especially, the turbulent mode of thermal energy transport both in fluid and solid, should be re-examined and reformulated from the primary principles. In the present paper, a group of researchers from Energy Conversion Department of...

Graphene field-effect transistor application for flow sensing
PublicationMicroflow sensors offer great potential for applications in microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip systems. However, thermal-based sensors, which are commonly used in modern flow sensing technology, are mainly made of materials with positive temperature coefficients (PTC) and suffer from a self-heating effect and slow response time. Therefore, the design of novel devices and careful selection of materials are required to improve the overall...

Morse inequalities via Conley index theory
PublicationThe relation known as the Morse inequalities can be extended to a more general setting of flows on a locally compact metric spaces (Conley index) as well as dynamical systems on Hilbert spaces (LS-index). This paper is a discourse around this extension. Except the part concerning the LS-index the material is self-contained and has a character of a survey.

Multipath Complex Root Tracing
PublicationThe problem of multipath root tracing is being addressed in this communication. The self-adaptive complex root tracing algorithm, which was previously utilized for the investigation of various propagation and radiation problems, is analyzed here for the cases when the traced characteristic bifurcates. A procedure of multiroute detection is proposed and demonstrated on the coaxially loaded cylindrical waveguide example.

Simulation model for evaluation of QOS dynamic routing
PublicationCurrent informational networks use a large variety of technologies to support data exchange. Most of them are focused on IP protocol and include mechanisms which by definition should supply demanded QoS. One of those mechanisms is efficient path calculation - routing. Traffic offered to the network can change very rapidly in short term. Routing should support such traffic changes and all the time calculate valid paths in terms...

PERS - QUIET ROAD SURFACE FOR URBAN AREAS
PublicationTraffic noise is one of the most important environmental problems in densely populated urban areas. At low speeds the tyre/road interaction dominates all other sources. It is anticipated that when electric and hybrid vehicles gain dominance in city traffic, the importance of tyre/road noise will still increase as electric engines are much less noisy than combustion engines. On the other hand, electric and hybrid urban vehicles...
