The use of thin diamond films in fiber optic low-coherence interferometers”
PublikacjaIn this paper we present the use of thin diamond films in fiber-optic low-coherence interferometers. Two kinds of diamond surfaces were used: undoped diamond film and boron-doped diamond film. They were deposited on glass plates as well as silicon layers. A conventionally used mirror was used as a reference layer. Diamond films were deposited using Microwave Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition (μPE CVD) system. Measurements...

Fractal dimension for bending–torsion fatigue fracture characterisation
PublikacjaFracture surfaces after biaxial fatigue tests were compared using fractal dimension for three types of metallic materials in smooth and notched specimens made of S355J2 and 10HNAP steels and 2017-T4 aluminium alloy, considering both proportional and nonproportional cyclic loading. High-resolution optical 3D measurement studies were performed on the entire fracture surface. A direct correlation between fractal dimension and fatigue...

Microfluidic SIW-Based Tunable Self-Diplexing Antenna for Sub-6 GHz Band Applications
PublikacjaThis work introduces a novel frequency tunable self-diplexing antenna (SDA) design based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. A modified A-shaped slot is employed on the cavity’s top plane, which is excited by two independent 50 Ω microstrip feed lines to operate at each resonant frequency. The frequency flexibility of the proposed antenna allows for fine-tuning at each resonance frequency. The frequency flexibility...

Composite 2D Material-Based Pervaporation Membranes for Liquid Separation: A Review
PublikacjaToday, chemistry and nanotechnology cover molecular separations in liquid and gas states by aiding in the design of new nano-sized materials. In this regard, the synthesis and application of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are current fields of research in which structurally defined 2D materials are being used in membrane separation either in self-standing membranes or composites with polymer phases. For instance, pervaporation...

A Generalized Framework Towards Structural Mechanics of Three-layered Composite Structures
PublikacjaThree-layered composite structures find a broad application. Increasingly, composites are being used whose layer thicknesses and material properties diverge strongly. In the perspective of structural mechanics, classical approaches to analysis fail at such extraordinary composites. Therefore, emphasis of the present approach is on arbitrary transverse shear rigidities and structural thicknesses of the individual layers. Therewith...

Hybrid SONIC: joint feedforward–feedback narrowband interference canceler
PublikacjaSONIC (self-optimizing narrowband interference canceler) is an acronym of a recently proposed active noise control algorithm with interesting adaptivity and robustness properties.
