Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans: implementation process and indicators to evaluate effects on physical activity
PublikacjaBackground: Active mobility and public transport increase physical activity (PA) levels. With varying intensity and effectiveness, European cities implement Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) to spur transport-related PA. Therefore, we aim to examine drivers and barriers to SUMP implementation and assess its influence on PA across European cities. Methods: We screened policy reports to gain insights into SUMP implementation...

Workforce mobility against the background of labour market duality theory – the example of selected OECD countries
PublikacjaThe paper aims to present an empirical study of labour market segmentation (LMS) hypothesis. According to the dual labour market theory jobs can be divided into two groups: primary and secondary jobs, with enter barriers into the first one. The primary jobs are usually described with relative high wages, whereas secondary jobs provide lower level of wages. In this paper we first examine the main sectors (according to the ISIC rev....

Application of gas chromatographic data and 2D molecular descriptors for accurate global mobility potential prediction
PublikacjaMobility is a key feature affecting the environmental fate, which is of particular importance in the case of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and emerging pollutants (EPs). In this study, the global mobility classification artificial neural networks-based models employing GC retention times (RT) and 2D molecular descriptors were constructed and validated. The high usability of RT was confirmed based on the feature selection...

A DSC and NMR-Relaxation study of the molecular mobility of water protons interacting with chemically modified starches
PublikacjaChanges in the mobility of water protons in the chemically modified starches (CMS)–water system are studied by differential scanning calorimetry and NMR relaxation. The amounts of unfrozen water at negative temperatures and additional (after gelation) unfrozen for CMS are lower than those for native starch. The proton spin–spin relaxation time T2 for CMS samples, conventionally attributed to the water fraction in starch granules,...

Mobility and biodegradability of an imidazolium based ionic liquid in soil and soil amended with waste sewage sludge
PublikacjaSorption on solids and biodegradation are main phenomena that can mitigate the pollution of soil and water by ionic liquids (ILs). ILs sorbed on soil particles become immobilized (temporarily or permanently) which prevents them from spreading into deeper layers of soil or groundwater but which also makes them less bioavailable. In this study we attempt to examine if amendment of soil with waste sludge has a potential to mitigate...

Effect of User Mobility upon Trust Building among Autonomous Content Routers in an Information-Centric Network
PublikacjaThe capability of proactive in-network caching and sharing of content is one of the most important features of an informationcentric network (ICN). We describe an ICN model featuring autonomous agents controlling the content routers. Such agents are unlikely to share cached content with other agents without an incentive to do so. To stimulate cooperation between agents, we adopt a reputation and trust building scheme that is able...

Comparative analysis of IP-based mobility protocols and fast handover algorithms in IEEE 802.11 based WLANs
PublikacjaA rapid growth of IP-based networks and services created the vast collection of resources and functionality available to users by means of an uniform method of access - an IP protocol. At the same time, advances in design of mobile electronic devices allowed them to reach utility level comparable to stationary, desktop computers, while still retaining their mobility advantage. Unfortunately, the base IP protocol does not perform...

Charge density wave, enhanced mobility, and large nonsaturating magnetoresistance across the magnetic states of HoNiC2 and ErNiC2
PublikacjaWe report on magnetotransport and thermoelectric properties of two ternary carbides HoNiC2 and ErNiC2 hosting both charge density wave and long-range magnetic order. In the charge density wave state, both compounds show relatively large magnetoresistance MR ≈ 150% in HoNiC2 and ≈ 70%in ErNiC2 at a magnetic field of 9 T and temperature as low as 2 K. This positive field-linear magnetoresistance shows no signatures of saturation....

Effects of the Covid-19 travel restrictions on metropolises mobility: empirical evidence from the Tricity metropolis (Poland)
PublikacjaThis paper aims to assess changes in mobility and modal shift caused by COVID-19 travel restrictions among the residents of Gdańsk Bay Metropolis (Poland). Measurement’s moments were assumed in periods differing in the level of restric- tions. The computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) was carried out in November and December 2020. The results did not confirm the expected modal shift. However, significant changes in the number...

Mobility and bioavailability of mercury in sediments of the southern Baltic sea in relation to the chemical fractions of iron: Spatial and temporal patterns
PublikacjaMarine sediments play a significant role as reservoirs for mercury (Hg), a bioaccumulative toxic pollutant that poses risks to human and ecosystem health. Iron (Fe) has been recognized as an influential factor in the complexation and bioavailability of Hg in sediments. However, limited studies have investigated the interactions between the chemical fractions of these elements in natural settings. This study aims to examine the...

Morphology control via dual solvent crystallization for high-mobility functionalized pentacene-blend thin film transistors
PublikacjaWe present an approach to improving the performance of solution processed organic semiconductor transistors based on a dual solvent system. We here apply this to a blend containing the π-conjugated small molecule 6,13 bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-pentacene) and polystyrene, which acts as an inert binder. Using a semiconductor-binder solution of two solvents, where the main solvent is a better solvent of the small...

Effect of shallow traps on admittance spectra of the system carrying SCLC and on values of charge carrier mobility extracted from susceptance
PublikacjaThe work concerns small-signal spectra of space-charge-limited current below threshold frequency (ft) of shallow traps. It is shown that below ft the small-signal concentration of trapped charge carriers is proportional to and in phase with small-signal concentration of free charge carriers, so there is no room for “slow shallow traps”. Conductance can be reduced by the traps, however no change in the range of real capacitance...

Effect of electrode resistance on admittance spectra of planar organic device carrying SCLC and on charge carrier mobility extracted from susceptance
PublikacjaThe work presents small signal admittance spectra of a sandwich system with thin organic layer carrying a space charge limited current. The effect of series resistance of electrodes on the spectra is discussed. Spectra of small signal capacitance are added to get more detailed insight. The analysis performed shows that the series resistance can affect both parts of small signal response within a whole range of frequency. Moreover,...
