Effect of initial imperfection on buckling of thin-walled I columns
PublikacjaEffects of initial geometrical imperfections on critical buckling loads of thin-walled I columns are investigated. Torsional and flexural buckling are taken into account. The column behaviour is described in accord to the theory of thin-walled beams with nondeformable cross-section. Some numerical examples and conclusions related to effects of imperfections on properties of the critical loads are presented.

The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublikacjaGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Determiantion of optimal conditions for the isolation of oil from the fishing industry offal

PublikacjaIn the title compound, C13H12N2S·C3H6O, the phenyl rings of the thiourea molecule are in syn and anti positions in relation to the C=S bond. Two molecules are connected by N-HS=C hydrogen bonds into a centrosymmetric dimer. An additional N-HO=C hydrogen bond to the acetone solvent molecule and some weak C-H interactions reinforce the crystal structure.

On the use of a charge balancing method for low energy measurements
PublikacjaThe paper presents the method for the estimation of the energy consumption of the low-power microcontroller-based devices. Due to high dynamics of the changes of the supply current of the tested devices during the operational cycle, the consumed energy estimation is not easy. In order to avoid disadvantages of known methods, the charge balancing method was employed similarly like in some types of A/D converters.

Edge-coloring of 3-uniform hypergraphs
PublikacjaWe consider edge-colorings of 3-uniform hypergraphs which is a natural generalization of the problem of edge-colorings of graphs. Various classes of hypergraphs are discussed and we make some initial steps to establish the border between polynomial and NP-complete cases. Analysis of graphene multi-strip planar guiding structures with the use of spectral domain approach
PublikacjaSpectral domain approach is modified and used to analyze some simple structures containing graphene strips. The modification is simple and concerns the Green’s function only. Moreover, the method is combined with the recently published root finding algorithms, which significantly improve the efficiency of the analysis. The results obtained for a simple guiding structure is verified and the field displacement effect is confirmed.

Anisotropic Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions and Lagrange equations
PublikacjaIn this paper we study some properties of anisotropic Orlicz and Orlicz–Sobolev spaces of vector valued functions for a special class of G-functions. We introduce a variational setting for a class of Lagrangian Systems. We give conditions which ensure that the principal part of variational functional is finitely defined and continuously differentiable on Orlicz–Sobolev space.

Influence of edge subdivision on the convex domination number
PublikacjaWe study the influence of edge subdivision on the convex domination number. We show that in general an edge subdivision can arbitrarily increase and arbitrarily decrease the convex domination number. We also find some bounds for unicyclic graphs and we investigate graphs G for which the convex domination number changes after subdivision of any edge in G.

Dedicated scheduling of tasks to minimize mean flow time
PublikacjaThis paper investigates the complexity of scheduling biprocessor tasks on dedicated processors to minimize mean flow time. Since the general problem is strongly NP-hard, we assume some restrictions on task lengths and the structure of associated scheduling graphs. Of particular interest are acyclic graphs. In this way we identify a borderline between NP-hard and polynomially solvable special cases.
