Edge-Guided Mode Performance and Applications in Nonreciprocal Millimeter-Wave Gyroelectric Components
PublicationThe analogies between the behavior of gyromagnetic and gyroelectric nonreciprocal structures, the use of the simple transfer matrix approach, and the edge-guided (EG) wave property, supported in a parallel plate model for integrated magnetized semiconductor waveguide, are investigated in those frequency regions, where the effective permittivity is negative or positive. As with their ferrite counterparts, the leakage of the EG waves...

Electrical properties of lead-borate glasses and glass-ceramics containing iron ions
Open Research DataElectrical properties were studied for borate-lead glasses and glass-ceramics doped with iron ions. Glass samples of composition of xFe2O3–(100 − x)(B2O3–2PbO) (2.5 b x b 37, in mol%) were prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. The melting was conducted in alumina crucibles at the temperature of 1523 K. The melts were poured on a preheated...

Dielectric properties of barium-vanadate glasses
Open Research DataThe linear impedance of barium-vanadate glasses was measured. Samples of the composition of xBaO-(100-x)V2O5 where x= 30, 40 and 45 (in %mol) were prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. Appropriate amounts of reagents: BaO (≥99.9%, P.P.H STANLAB Sp.J.) and V2O5 (≥99.9%, POCH) were thoroughly mixed in an agate mortar. The melting was...

A Theoretical and Experimental Study of Moderate Temperature Alfa Type Stirling Engines
PublicationThe Stirling engine is a device that allows conversion of thermal energy into mechanical energy with relatively high efficiency. Existing commercial designs are mainly based on the usage of high temperature heat sources, whose availability from renewable or waste heat sources is significantly lower than that of moderate temperature sources. The paper presents the results of experimental research on a prototype alpha type Stirling...

Numerical Modelling of Forced Convection of Nanofluids in Smooth, Round Tubes: A Review
PublicationA comprehensive review of published works dealing with numerical modelling of forced convection heat transfer and hydrodynamics of nanofluids is presented. Due to the extensive literature, the review is limited to straight, smooth, circular tubes, as this is the basic geometry in shell-and-tube exchangers. Works on numerical modelling of forced convection in tubes are presented chronologically in the first part of the article....

Multi-nodal PWR reactor model — Methodology proposition for power distribution coefficients calculation
PublicationIn the paper the multi-nodal Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) model called Mann’s model is presented. This models is used for modelling purposes of the heat transfer from fuel to coolant in reactor core. The authors expand widely used in literature approach by defining additional coefficients for the heat transfer model. These parameters approximate the power generation distribution in the PWR reactor core according to the to the...

Power enhancement of the Brayton cycle by steam utilization
PublicationThe paper presents thermodynamic analysis of the gas-steam unit of the 65 MWe combined heat and power station. Numerical analyses of the station was performed for the nominal operation conditions determining the Brayton and combined cycle. Furthermore, steam utilization for the gas turbine propulsion in the Cheng cycle was analysed. In the considered modernization, steam generated in the heat recovery steam generator unit is directed...
