The algorithm has many new advantages, e.g., it does not store a whole product graph in a computer memory and it uses the so-called distributions in all dimensions to get a better approximation of the zero error capacity. Corrosion resistance examinations of Ti6Al4V alloy with the use of potentiodynamic method in Ringer`s and artificial saliva solutions
PublicationThe research results of corrosion resistance of the Ti6Al4V alloy in the simulated body fluids (SBF) are presented. The polished specimens have shown better corrosion resistance than grinded surfaces in both liquids. The artificial saliva has revealed more aggressive test solution than Ringer`s solution. The pitting tendency has been observed in Ringer`s solution for grinded specimens.

Reduced order models in computational electromagnetics (in memory of Ruediger Vahldieck)
PublicationThis paper reviews research of Ruediger Vahldieck's group and the group at the Gdansk University of Technology in the area of model order reduction techniques for accelerating full-wave simulations. The applications of reduced order models to filter design as well as of local and nested(multilevel) macromodels for solving 3D wave equations and wave-guiding problems using finite difference and finite element methods are discussed.

Wear of Ultra-thin DLC or Tungsten-modified DLC Coatings under Reciprocating Sliding
PublicationIn the paper results are presented from tests in reciprocating sliding of self mated specimens of DLC and tungsten modified DLC coatings on stainless steel substrate. The contact geometry chosen for the research task was ball on flat. The contacts were lubricated either with distilled water or medical saline solution. Results are presented with regard to wear resistance as a function of material type and lubricant used.

Sensorless Control of Induction Machine Supplied by Current Source Inverter
PublicationThe paper describes the voltage control technique of induction machines supplied by a current source inverter. The control system is based on proposed new multi-scalar variables, which are named “r.” The control system contains the output filter capacitor's model. Influence of accelerometer signal pre-processing and classification method on human activity recognition
PublicationA study of data pre-processing influence on accelerometer-based human activity recognition algorithms is presented. The frequency band used to filter-out the accelerometer signals and the number of accelerometers involved were considered in terms of their influence on the recognition accuracy. In the test four methods of classification were used: support vector machine, decision trees, neural network, k-nearest neighbor.
