The influence of historical conditions on time and cost of construction project
PublikacjaConducting construction works in a building or in an area entered in the historic register is associated with the contracting authority's risk of incurring higher than planned costs of works, as well as delays in their implementation. In many cases, these deviations are completely independent of contracting authority and contractor. The aim of this article is to indicate the reasons for cost and time changes in the construction...

Pr-doped TiO2: The effect of metal content on photocatalytic activity
PublikacjaThe Pr-TiO2 nanoparticles were prepared by using the sol-gel method. As-prepared samples were characterized by BET measurements, X-ray powder diffraction analysis (XRD) and UV-Vis spectra. Visible and ultraviolet light photocatalytic activity of the sample was studied by photodegradation of phenol while considering the influence of the dopant concentration. TiO2 doped with 0.25 mol% of praseodymium showed the highest photocatalytic...

seafloor characterisation combined approach using multibeam sonar echo signal processing and image analysis
PublikacjaThe authors propose the approach to seafloor characterisation which relies on the combined, concurrent use of two different techniques: (i) multibeam sonar image analysis and (ii) multibeam seabed echoes processing. The first technique is based on constructing the grey-level sonar images of the seabed extracted from the echoes received in the consecutive soundings. Then, the set of parameters describing the local region of sonar...

Dedicated scheduling of tasks to minimize mean flow time
PublikacjaThis paper investigates the complexity of scheduling biprocessor tasks on dedicated processors to minimize mean flow time. Since the general problem is strongly NP-hard, we assume some restrictions on task lengths and the structure of associated scheduling graphs. Of particular interest are acyclic graphs. In this way we identify a borderline between NP-hard and polynomially solvable special cases.
