A remark on singular sets of vector bundle morphisms
PublikacjaIf characteristic classes for two vector bundles over the same base space do not coincide, then the bundles are not isomorphic. We give under rather common assumptions a lower bound on the topological dimension of the set of all points in the base over which a morphism between such bundles is not bijective. Moreover, we show that this set is topologically non-trivial.

Equivariant Morse equation
PublikacjaThe paper is concerned with the Morse equation for flows in a representation of a compact Lie group. As a consequence of this equation we give a relationship between the equivariant Conley index of an isolated invariant set of the flow given by x˙ = − ∇f(x) and the gradient equivariant degree of ∇f. Some multiplicity results are also presented.

Seiberg-Witten invariants the topological degree and wall crossing formula
PublikacjaFollowing S. Bauer and M. Furuta we investigate finite dimensional approximations of a monopole map in the case b 1 = 0. We define a certain topological degree which is exactly equal to the Seiberg-Witten invariant. Using homotopy invariance of the topological degree a simple proof of the wall crossing formula is derived.

Generation of the vorticity mode by sound in a vibrationally relaxing gas
PublikacjaW badaniu została przedstawiona procedura wyprowadzenia nowego równania dla modu wirowego generowanego przez ultradźwięki w gazach z pobudzonymi stopniami swobody. Pokazano, że w pewnych warunkach kierunek linii prądu dla modu wirowego jest przeciwny w porównaniu do płynów ze standardowym tłumieniem. Teoria została zilustrowana na przykładzie generowania modu wirowego przez okresową wiązkę akustyczną ze słabą dyfrakcją poprzeczną.

The vortex flow caused by sound in a bubbly liquid
PublikacjaGeneration of vorticity in the field of intense sound in a bubbly liquid in the free half-space is considered. The reasons for generation of vorticity are nonlinearity, diffraction, and dispersion. Acoustic streaming differs from that in a Newtonian fluid. Under some conditions, the vortex flow changes its direction. Conclusions concern streaming induced by a harmonic or an impulse Gaussian beam.

Thermal self-action effects for acoustic beams containing fronts in a Maxwell relaxing fluid
PublikacjaThis paper examines the thermal self-action of acoustic beams in a Maxwell relaxing fluid. This type of thermal self-action differs from that in a Newtonian fluid and behaves differently depending on a ratio of sound period and time of thermodynamic relaxation. Modification of current-voltage characteristics of planar organic systems by nm-thick interlayer
PublikacjaEffect of nm-thick interlayer of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) or perylene dye (MePTCDI) on current-voltage characteristics of planar organic systems is discussed in the work. The MePTCDI layer strongly limits injection of holes from ITO into CuPc, while CuPc limits injection of electrons from ITO into MePTCDI. In the systems with CuPc/MePTCDI heterojunction an explicit photovoltaic effect occurs.

PublikacjaWe consider a conservative second order Hamiltonian system \ddot{q}+ ∇V(q)=0 in R3 with a potential V having a global maximum at the origin and a line l ∩ {0} = ∅ as a set of singular points. Under a certain compactness condition on V at infinity and a strong force condition at singular points we study, by the use of variational methods and geometrical arguments, the existence of homoclinic solutions of the system.
