Reactions of methyl radicals with silica supported silver nanoparticles in aqueous solutions
PublikacjaSilica supported silver nanoparticles (Ag°–SiO2 –NCs, NCs=nanocomposites) suspended in aqueous solutions are efficient catalysts for the dimerization of methyl radicals to produce ethane, while bare silica is quite inert towards the interaction with methyl radicals. In the presence of small amounts of ethanol adsorbed on the SiO2 surface, the reaction path with methyl radicals is changed and methane is formed as the major product.

XRD patterns of vanadium oxide nanostructures on silicon substrate obtained by V2O5 recrystallization
Dane BadawczeThe DataSet contains the XRD patterns of vanadium oxide nanostructures on silicon substrates obtained by recrystallization of V2O5 thin films between 800-1200°C under synthetic air. The thin films were obtained by the sol-gel method. The information about sol synthesis is described in the Journal of Nanomaterials.

XRD patterns of VO2 and V2O3 thin films obtained at 500°C
Dane BadawczeThe DataSet contains the XRD patterns of VO2 and V2O3 thin films obtained by the sol-gel method. The information about sol synthesis is described in the Journal of Nanomaterials. The thin films with different thicknesses (3-9 AsP layers) were deposited on a silicon substrate and were annealing at 500°C under an argon atmosphere.

UWB Microstrip Antennas on a Cylindrical Surfaces
PublikacjaConformal antennas are becoming popular due to their many advantages and possibilities of applications they offer. The advantages of using antennas with a curved surface arise not only from the possibility of integrating them with the object on which they are mounted on but also from the increase, relatively to planar antennas, of their visible angular range. The circular antenna arrays, or arrays of radiators located on the surface...

Rapid design closure of linear microstrip antenna array apertures using response features
PublikacjaA simple yet reliable approach to a rapid design closure of linear antenna array apertures at the electromagnetic (EM)-simulation level is proposed. Our methodology exploits an underlying array factor (AF) model suitably corrected by means of characteristic points (angles and levels) of the radiation pattern of the EM model of the antenna array aperture. This conveniently allows for controlling both the side lobe levels...

An analysis of solar energy conversion systems based on photon and thermal processes
PublikacjaSolar spectral irradiance covers a fairly broad wavelength range. Solar radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum which is described by the concept of wave-particle duality. The corpuscular theory of electromagnetic radiation states that energy is transmitted by photons. Photons carry specific amounts of energy which can be used to convert solar energy into other types of energy, in particular electricity. The internal...

Fiber-optic Fabry-Pérot sensors – modeling versus measurements results
PublikacjaThis paper describes how parameters of investigated substances and the fiber-optic Fabry-Pérot sensing interferometer affect the spectrum of the optical radiation at the output of the sensor. First, the modeling of the operation of the sensing interferometer was conducted. Most important parameters and effects that were taken into account are: dependences of the refractive indices of the core and the cladding, as well the mode...
