REVITALIZATION PROJECT OF SLUM TRANSFORMATION: A CASE STUDY HAY-AL TANAK,BEIRUT,LEBANON
PublikacjaSlums are global phenomena that exist as a solution for those who couldn’t afford a house. This phenomenon is growing accompanying the rapid urbanization and the growth of the urban population, three-quarter of the world population anticipated to live in an urban environment by 2050 (Avis, 2016, p. 57). This paper reviews slum's evaluation of the revitalization project for one of the poorest slums in Beirut called Hay-Al Tanak....

A note on polynomial algorithm for cost coloring of bipartite graphs with Δ ≤ 4
PublikacjaIn the note we consider vertex coloring of a graph in which each color has an associated cost which is incurred each time the color is assigned to a vertex. The cost of coloring is the sum of costs incurred at each vertex. We show that the minimum cost coloring problem for n-vertex bipartite graph of degree ∆≤4 can be solved in O(n^2) time. This extends Jansen’s result [K.Jansen,The optimum cost chromatic partition problem, in:...

Estimation of DC motor parameters using a simple CMOS camera
PublikacjaDifferent components of control systems for mobile robots are based on dynamic models. In low-cost solutions such a robot is wheeled and equipped with DC motors, which have to be included in the model of the robot. On Computational Aspects of Greedy Partitioning of Graphs
PublikacjaIn this paper we consider a problem of graph P-coloring consisting in partitioning the vertex set of a graph such that each of the resulting sets induces a graph in a given additive, hereditary class of graphs P. We focus on partitions generated by the greedy algorithm. In particular, we show that given a graph G and an integer k deciding if the greedy algorithm outputs a P-coloring with a least k colors is NP-complete for an infinite...

Total chromatic sum for trees
PublikacjaThe total chromatic sum of a graph is the minimum sum of colors (natural numbers) taken over all proper colorings of vertices and edges of a graph. We provide infinite families of trees for which the minimum number of colors to achieve the total chromatic sum is equal to the total chromatic number. We construct infinite families of trees for which these numbers are not equal, disproving the conjecture from 2012.
