Longitudinal Motion Due to Action of Tunnel Thrusters
PublikacjaTunnel thrusters are propulsion and active control devises that provide a side force, or transverse thrust, to support mooring operations or position keeping. They shorten the time of manoeuvring, reduce the cost of towage and since inception, manoeuvrability specifically in ports has become a lot easier. Tunnel thrusters can either be operated manually or with the help of Dynamic Positioning systems which makes it even more efficient. Theoretically,...

Hydrochar-nanoparticle integration for arsenic removal from wastewater: Challenges, possible solutions, and future horizon
PublikacjaArsenic (As) contamination poses a significant threat to human health, ecosystems, and agriculture, with levels ranging from 12 to 75% attributed to mine waste and stream sediments. This naturally element is abundant in Earth's crust and gets released into the environment through mining and rock processing, causing ≈363 million people to depend on As-contaminated groundwater. To combat this issue, introducing a sustainable hydrochar...

Ring thruster - a preliminary optimisation study
PublikacjaThe ring thruster is a new type of propeller, for which there is no experimental data to verify analytical design calculations. A significant feature of the ring thruster is the absence of a shaft. Propeller blades are mounted to the ring rotating inside the housing, which has the shape of a nozzle. For this reason the ring thruster is closest, with respect to both the construction and principle of operation, to the Kort nozzle...

The effect of the exposure-in-oil on the contact of the polymers forming sliding layers in hydrodynamic bearings.
ARCHITECTURE IN BRANDING AND OVERBRANDING PROCESS. HOW GLOBALIZATION INFLUENCED ARCHITECTURE QUALITY.
PublikacjaGlobalization is unification. In the field of architecture and in the social structure alike, the globalization leads to a blending of economies and cultures that produces uniformly branded public space as a response to universal assumptions of integration and correlation. While branding consists in creating a recognizable and outstanding image a strong contradiction exists between both of these approaches. As a result, regional...
