Robust unsupervised georeferencing algorithm for aerial and satellite imagery
PublikacjaIn order to eliminate a human factor and fully automate the process of embedding the spatial localization information in a remote sensed image the integrated georeferencing method was proposed. The paper presents this unsupervised and robust approach which is comprised of pattern recognition, using SIFT-based detector, and RANSAC based outlier removal with matching algorithm.

Improving the accuracy of subgridding scheme in finite differences method based on Legendre polynomials expansion
PublikacjaIn this article the Legendre polynomials have been used to interpolate the field at the boundary of the meshes of different densities. The numerical verification of the proposed technique has been carried out in frequency domain. It has been shown that the accuracy of the presented method is very high and stable - the error monotonically decreases as a function of the refinement factor.

Acceleration of the discrete Green's function computations
PublikacjaResults of the acceleration of the 3-D discrete Green's function (DGF) computations on the multicore processor are presented. The code was developed in the multiple precision arithmetic with use of the OpenMP parallel programming interface. As a result, the speedup factor of three orders of magnitude compared to the previous implementation was obtained thus applicability of the DGF in FDTD simulations was significantly improved.

Multi-core and Multiprocessor Implementation of Numerical Integration in Finite Element Method
PublikacjaThe paper presents techniques for accelerating a numerical integration process which appears in the Finite Element Method. The acceleration is achieved by taking advantages of multi-core and multiprocessor devices. It is shown that using multi-core implementation with OpenMP and a GPU acceleration using CUDA architecture allows one to achieve the speedups by a factor of 5 and 10 on a CPU and GPUs, respectively.

The flux compression generator load parameters selection
PublikacjaComputer simulation results of the flux compression generator (FCG) loaded with an inductor has been presented in this paper. Simulation research has been performed in order to select the parameters of FCG load coil properly. The influence of the load inductance and resistance on the current gain factor and the magnetic field energy accumulated in a load coil has been investigated.

PublikacjaThe authors conducted a research experiment to verify the hypothesis that it is possible to preserve the mesh in the operating field in large direct hernias (M3) without the need to use fixing materials. The results showed that mesh fixation is not the only alternative to preventing recurrence in complex defects and that the type of implant seems to be a key factor from the point of view of mechanics and biophysics.
