Multicriteria Optimization Approach to Design and Operation of District Heating Supply System over its Life Cycle
PublikacjaDistrict Heating (DH) systems are commonly supplied using local heat sources. Nowadays, modern insulation materials allow for effective and economically viable heat transportation over long distances (over 20 km). In the paper a method for optimized selection of design and operating parameters of long distance Heat Transportation System (HTS) is proposed. The method allows for evaluation of feasibility and effectivity of heat transportation...

DETERMINING THE TIME CONSTANT USING TWO METHODS AND DEFINING THE THERMOCOUPLE RESPONSE TO SINE EXCITATION OF GAS TEMPERATURE
PublikacjaThis paper describes the two methods of determining the time constant of type K thermocouple, for two construction solutions: the exposed weld and the mantle fillet weld. This is an important parameter indicating the response time of the thermocouple on the recorded signal. The first method consists of determining the value of τ in the way of numerical simulation of heat exchange between the thermocouple and the current of gas...

Generalized Taylor formula and shell structures for the analysis of the interaction between geosythetics and engineering structures of transportation lines
PublikacjaThe analysis of the interaction between geosynthetics and engineering structures (e.g. railroad bed, soil foundation, pipeline) assumes that the geosynthetic form elastic membranes or shell laid on different types of foundations. The mathematical description of that problems in continuous domain employs Laplace operator Δ or d’Alembert operator □. In this paper we demonstrate the analysis based on generalize Taylor formula, and...

PublikacjaThe effect of moderate pressure at subzero temperature on natural microflora of minced cod, salmony, pork and beef meat was studied. Pressure of 193 MPa at –20 °C caused reduction of total bacterial count in pork and beef meat by 1.1 and 0.6 log cycles, respectively, and by about 1.5 log cycles in fish meat. Under these conditions the psychrophilic and psychrotophic bacteria were below the detection limit (<10CFU/g of sample) in...

The effect of shear deformations' rotary inertia on the vibrating response of multi-physic composite beam-like actuators
PublikacjaIn consecutive studies on flexomagneticity (FM), this work investigates the flexomagnetic reaction of a vibrating squared multi-physic beam in finite dimensions. It is assumed that the bending and shear deformations cause rotary inertia. In the standard type of the Timoshenko beam the rotary inertia originated from shear deformations has been typically omitted. It means the rotary inertia resulting from shear deformation is a new...

The Effect of Wood Provenance and Density on Cutting Forces While Sawing Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris L.)
PublikacjaSeveral properties of wood including the cutting power requirements can be correlated to wood density. Therefore, according to the literature, the cutting power requirements (and/or cutting forces) could be computed as a function of the wood specific gravity. This research shows that such an approach, based solely on specific gravity, may be considered a rather rough and imperfect estimate of cutting power. Samples of Scots pine...
