Equivalence of equicontinuity concepts for Markov operators derived from a Schur-like property for spaces of measures
PublikacjaVarious equicontinuity properties for families of Markov operators have been – and still are – used in the study of existence and uniqueness of invariant probability for these operators, and of asymptotic stability. We prove a general result on equivalence of equicontinuity concepts. It allows comparing results in the literature and switching from one view on equicontinuity to another, which is technically convenient in proofs....

The equations for interactions of polarization modes in optical fibres including the kerr effect

Accounting for a weak nonlinearity, which is connected to the Kerr effect, we have given explicit expressions for...

Relativity of arithmetic as a fundamental symmetry of physics
PublikacjaArithmetic operations can be defined in various ways, even if one assumes commutativity and associativity of addition and multiplication, and distributivity of multiplication with respect to addition. In consequence, whenever one encounters ‘plus’ or ‘times’ one has certain freedom of interpreting this operation. This leads to some freedom in definitions of derivatives, integrals and, thus, practically all equations occurring in...
