A robust design of a numerically demanding compact rat-race coupler
PublikacjaA fast and accurate design procedure of a computationally expensive microwave circuit has been presented step-by-step and experimentally validated on the basis of a compact rat-race coupler (RRC) comprising slow-wave resonant structures (SWRSs). The final compact RRC solution has been obtained by means of a sequential optimization scheme exploiting the implicit space mapping (ISM) algorithm. A well-suited surrogate optimization...

Novel structure and EM-driven design of miniaturized microstrip rat-race coupler
PublikacjaIn this paper, a novel structure and design procedure of a miniaturized microstrip rat-race coupler (RRC) is described. Small size of the RRC is achieved by folding the transmission lines of the conventional circuit into its interior, as well as by implementation of the structure on three layers. The final size of the coupler realized for the operating frequency of 1 GHz is only 220 mm2, which gives over 95% footprint reduction...

Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs): Sediments and Water Analysis
PublikacjaUnfavorable side effects of different forms of anthropogenic activities can be found anywhere in the world. One of the basic characteristics of pollutants entering marine and ocean waters is their spread and movement in the global ocean. A portion of the substances entering the marine environment is rapidly degraded by chemical processes occurring in the air, sediments, and water, thereby losing their toxic properties. The biggest...

Optimum shape of turnout diverging track with segments of variable curvature
PublikacjaIn the paper an attempt has been made to focus on shaping the variable curvature in the diverging track of the railway turnout. Basing on some earlier studies, solutions provided with a circular arc in the mid-zone, and in the extreme regions with segments of non-linear curvature of equal length and zero curvature at the start and end of the turnout, have been assumed as models. The most advantageous type of curvature has been...
