Dissociation of furan-2-carboxylic acid by low energy electrons
PublicationElectron attachment to molecular target can lead to a variety of negative fragment ions. We experi- mentally probe the main dissociative electron attachment channels in furan-2-carboxylic acid (C3H3O2 − COOH) - a molecular target composed of two important structural units: a furan ring and a carboxylic group. In our studies we utilise nearly mono-energetic electrons at electron energies from 0 eV up to 15 eV. Our detection setup...

The energy consumption during the birch tree sap concentration process using the reverse osmosis system
PublicationBirch tree sap was concentrated by mens of the reversed osmosis technique. The energy consumption in a small-scale pilot apparatus was estimated. The threshold value for the water removal above which the specific energy consumption significantly increased was identified. Below the threshold value the reversed osmosis had low energy demand and could be an attractive method for the production of birch tree sap-based beverages.

Storing Matter’technique in SIMS depth profile analysis
PublicationSecondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) is a very useful technique for the analysis of layered systems. It is based on the primary ion beam sputtering of solids and mass analysis of the emitted secondary ions. A main limitation of this technique results from the direct quantitative analysis, since the ionization efficiency of a given atom is highly influenced by the neighbouring atoms at the surface. This phenomenon is known as...

Cross-Bonding of MV Cable Lines for Energy Losses Decrease
PublicationCurrently, almost all medium voltage cable lines (MV) operate with the return wires earthed at both ends of the cable. Such a way of operation causes that during normal states of operation as well as during disturbances, e.g. short-circuits, in the return wires induce currents whose values mainly depend on the currents flowing in the phase wires. These currents in normal operating states are a source of additional energy losses...

We assume that the main term of the system has a mountain pass structure, but do not suppose any condition on the perturbation. We prove the existence of a periodic solution. Moreover, we show that periodic solutions of perturbed systems converge to periodic solutions of the unperturbed systems if the perturbation tends to zero. The assumption on...
