Superconductivity in the Endohedral Ga Cluster Compound PdGa5
PublicationSuperconductivity is observed below Tc = 1.6 K in an endohedral Ga cluster compound PdGa5 using magnetization and heat capacity measurements. Electronic structure calculations show that the density of states (DOS) at the Fermi level is dominated by Ga s and p states and that the overall shape of DOS is similar to what was found in other endohedral Ga cluster superconductors, such as MoxGa5x+1, ReGa5, and T2Ga9 (T = Rh and Ir)....

PublicationKomórki rekombinantowej Escherichia coli transformowane genem beta-galaktozydazy z Pyrococcus woesei wykorzystano jako biokatalizator syntezy galaktozylofruktozy. Największą aktywność syntezy wymienionego prebiotyku (7,6 g/L x godz)uzyskano w 80C przy pH 5,4, stosując jako substrat roztwór zawierający 10% laktozy i 20% fruktozy. Aktywność transgalaktozylacji nie ulegała istotnym zmianom podczas sześciu kolejnych szarż produkcyjnych.

PublicationPrzedstawione jest zastosowanie arktycznej beta-galaktozydazy Pseudoalteromonas sp. 22b do katalizy syntezy alkilowych galaktopyranozydów. Njwyższą wydajność syntezy uzyskuje się przy pH 6-9 i 10-30% stężenia wody. Podobnie jak dla mezofilnych beta-galaktozydaz enzym antarktyczny syntetyzował najwydajniej kiedy reakcja przebiega w mieszaninie buforu i rozpuszczalnika organiczego (poniżej 50%, v/v).
