Warstwy funkcjonalne tlenkowych ogniw paliwowych
PublicationIn this paper, results describing current research on solid oxide fuel cells conducted at Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics are presented. The results are related to three kinds of functional layers: a thin cathode layer between the porous cathode layer and the electrolyte to improve the cathode performance, a buffer layer between the electrolyte and the cathode to slow...

XRD for molybdenum sulfide modified with nickel or platinum nanoparticles
Open Research DataThe presented data showcases the results of XRD analysis conducted on molybdenum sulfide modified with nickel or platinum nanoparticles . The MoS2 was prepared on the TiO2 nanotube substrates via a facile hydrothermal method, followed by the deposition by magnetron sputtering of Ni or Pt nanoparticles on the MoS2 surface. Structural characterization...

ALLYING SYSTEM THINKING AND SET OF EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE STRUCTURE
PublicationThe approach of system thinking is completely different from traditional forms of analysis. Even the ancient meaning of word analysis is “a breaking up”. Set of Experience Knowledge Structure is an atomic record of decision event that can be grouped together and form some form of decision DNA of an organization. The question that this paper is trying to answer in how those concepts can be merged.

Investigation of rotational state-changing collisions of C2N− ions with helium
PublicationThe cross sections for rotational inelastic collisions between atoms and a molecular anion can be very large, if the anion has a dipole moment. This makes molecular anions very efficient in cooling atomic gases. We address rotational inelastic collisions of Helium atoms with the molecular anion C2N–. Here we present preliminary calculations of the potential energy surface.

Photocatalytic Decomposition of Air Pollutants using Electrodeposited Photocatalysts on Stainless Steel
PublicationThe aim of research was to develop an immobilization method for photocatalysts, which is an alternative to the sol-gel or dip coating methods and can be simply scaled up for technical applications. The investigated photocatalyst was TiO2, which was electrochemically deposited onto a cathode made of stainless steel. This deposited film was photocatalytically active. In order to enhance the photoactivity of the TiO2 film, commercially...

RAMAN DIAGNOSTICS OF CVD DIAMOND GROWTH
PublicationDevelopment of Raman spectroscopic system for diagnostics of growth of diamond and BDD (Boron- Doped-Diamond) thin films during μPA CVD (Microwave Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition) process is described. Raman studies of such films were carried out as in-situ monitoring of film deposition as ex-situ measurements conducted for a sample outside the reaction vessel after manufacturing process. Modular system for the in-situ...

The adiabatic potentials of low-lying electronic states of the NaRb molecule
PublicationAdiabatic potential energy curves and spectroscopic constants have been calculated for the NaRb molecule. The results of ten states of the symmetry Σ+, six states of the symmetry Π, and two states of the symmetry Δ are obtained by the nonrelativistic quantum chemical method used with pseudopotentials describing the interaction of valence electrons with atomic cores. Analysis is based on a comparison with the results of other theoretical...

Dariusz Mikielewicz prof. dr hab. inż.
PeopleProfessor Dariusz Mikielewicz – born on February 6, 1967. in Gdansk. Here in 1974 he enrolled first to the Elementary School No. 17, and then in the Grammar School No. 5, named after Stefan Żeromski in Gdansk-Oliwa. After graduating from the Secondary School, with honors, in 1985 he successfully passed the entrance exams to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Technical University of Gdansk, where he graduated with a very good...

Hemocompatibility of nanocrystalline diamond layers
Open Research DataThe biocompatibility of the diamond films were investigated with whole human blood samples. Blood used in this study was drawn from 10 healthy human patients of different age, sex, and blood group. A 2 ml samples were collected into standard tubes with EDTA anticoagulation agent. Blood was used within 6 hours from the collection time. A reference blood...

Detection of the acoustic interferences during AFM operation
Open Research DataAtomic force microscopy is a particularly complicated surface imaging technique due to the large number of factors that affect the quality of the resulting images. They are obviously difficult and sometimes even impossible to control at the same time. One of such factors may even be the seismological location of the building or the influence of mechanical...

Photofragmentation of tetrahydrofuran molecules in the vacuum-ultraviolet region via superexcited states studied by fluorescence spectroscopy
PublicationPhotofragmentation of tetrahydrofuran molecules in the vacuum-ultraviolet region, producing excited atomic and molecular fragments, has been studied over the energy range 14-68 eV using photon-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. Excited hydrogen atoms H(n), n = 3-11, have been detected by observation of the Hα to Hı lines of the Balmer series. The diatomic CH(A2Δ), CH(B2Σ-) and C2(d3Πg) fragments, which are excited to low vibrational...

Bitumen-Based Poroelastic Pavements: Successful Improvements and Remaining Issues
PublicationThis article presents the development process of designing and testing poroelastic pavement based on highly polymer-modified bitumen. Poroelastic wearing course was composed of mineral and rubber aggregate mixed with highly polymer-modified bitumen, in contrast to previous trials, during which polyurethane resins were mainly used as binder, which led to several serious technological problems concerning difficult production, insufficient...

Polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography for ceramic materials inspection
PublicationCeramics production is looking for a fast, reliable and non-destructive method that can be implemented on site for defect detection and analysis. In this paper we present polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) as a method for defect inspection. Proposed extensions to standard OCT provide additional information for complete characterization of tested object. We compare OCT and microscope imaging that can easily...

INVESTIGATION OF BOTTOM SEDIMENT STRATIFICATION
PublicationThe main goal of this paper is to find a method to assess remotely the type of sediments on the basis of the signal received using the parametric echosounder. The images of the sea bottom sediments taken by a parametric echosounder show the fine structure of the upper layer of the bottom sediments. The depth of penetration depends on the type of sediment, in fact on the attenuation of acoustic wave. In the paper the method of distinguishing...

Probability distribution of flicker noise in AuNPdecorated graphene–Si Schottky barrier diode
PublicationWe present results of the probability distribution analysis of flicker noise generated in Au nanoparticle (AuNP) decorated graphene–Si Schottky barrier diodes with and without yellow light illumination (592 nm), close to the localized surface plasmon resonance in the AuNPs (586 nm). The AuNPs occupy imperfections in the single-layer graphene and reduce the flicker noise intensity generated in the graphene layer. The estimated probability...

ELECTRON ATTACHMENT TO HETEROGENEOUS MOLECULAR CLUSTERS
PublicationHeterogeneous clusters are unique model species enabling studies of bulk and surface processes by vacuum restricted methods. This is of particular importance for the reactions of low-energy electrons which have extremely short penetration depth in bulk environments. This contribution overviews our recent experiments with low-energy electrons and clusters prepared by different techniques. First, the deposition of molecules on argon...

Among a variety of investigated materials, those composed of polymers and ceramics may be considered as only candidates for a core material in porous titanium alloy. The collagen and chitosan among natural polymers, polyhydroxy acids among synthetic polymers, and hydroxyapatite and tricalcium phosphate among ceramics are proposed for further research. Three essential...
