The effect of depth of surface layers constituted by vacuum technologies on pitting
PublicationThe paper presents the results of a study of the effect of vacuum technologies of formation of surface layers on pitting of associated elements in a lubricated, heavy-load rolling contact. The study has shown that increase in a PVD coat depth is accompanied by decrease in the fatigue friction pair.

On the Limiting distribution of Lempel Ziv'78 Redundancy for Memoryles Sources
PublicationWe show that the Lempel Ziv'78 redundancy rate tends to a Gaussian distribution for memoryless sources. We accomplish it by extending findings from our 1995 paper [3]. We present a new simplified proof of the Central Limit Theorem for the number of phrases in the LZ'78 algorithm. As in our 1995 paper, here we first analyze the asymptotic behavior of the total path length in a digital search tree (a DST) built from independent sequences....

On the Limiting Distribution of Lempel-Ziv’78 Redundancy for Memoryless Sources
PublicationWe study the Lempel-Ziv'78 algorithm and show that its (normalized) redundancy rate tends to a Gaussian distribution for memoryless sources. We accomplish it by extending findings from our 1995 paper, in particular, by presenting a new simplified proof of the central limit theorem (CLT) for the number of phrases in the LZ'78 algorithm. We first analyze the asymptotic behavior of the total path length in the associated digital search...

Unsaturated, biobased polyesters and their cross-linking via radical copolymerization
PublicationBiobased, unsaturated polyesters derived from isosorbide, maleic anhydride and succinic acid were synthesized and characterized. The presence of maleic anhydride units in the structure of the polyesters allowed converting them into cured coatings by radical copolymerization with cross-linking agents such as 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone, acrylic acid or methacrylamide. The investigated polyesters were obtained...

New Methods of Short-Circuit Current Limiting and Switching-off
PublicationPrzedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych i eksperymentalnych hybrydowych indukcyjno-tyrystorowych ograniczników i wyłączników prądu zwarciowego.

W chwili wzrostu prądu w gałęzi z urządzeniem ograniczającym ponad tę wartość, do obwodu głównego wtrącona zostaje impedancja kolejno dwóch dławików, ograniczając bezzwłocznie dynamikę i amplitudę prądu zwarciowego....

But research in the last 50 years has revealed a "bright side" to this element, especially as a component of selenoproteins, selenium makes a significant contribution to the health of humans and animals. The selenium content in an organism depends on its concentration...

PublicationIncorporation of spatial relationships in the construction of taxonomy measure of development is gaining popularity in Polish literature. However, there is no one common idea concerning how the spatial relationship should be taken into account when creating a synthetic variable nor, indeed, where the spatial weight matrix should be placed. It seems that the inclusion of spatial relationships is more important in smaller regions’...

Merging extremum seeking and self-optimizing narrowband interference canceller - overdetermined case
PublicationActive cancellation systems rely on destructive interference to achieve rejection of unwanted disturbances entering the system of interest. Typical practical applications of this method employ a simple single input, single output arrangement.
