Predicting the critical micelle concentration of aqueous solutions of ionic liquids and other ionic surfactants
PublicationNiektóre ciecze jonowe, szczególnie te będące kombinacją organicznego i nieorganicznego jonu, wykazują strukturalne podobieństwo do surfaktantów.

Curing epoxy resin with anhydride in the presence of halloysite nanotubes: the contradictory effects of filler concentration
PublicationEpoxy resins can be cured with a wide variety of curing agents such as amines and anhydrides, but anhydride curing would be more favorable for research purpose because of epoxy-anhydride curing taking place slowly at room temperature. Incorporation of natural nanosized minerals into epoxy is of environmental importance. Halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) display chemical properties similar to those of silica and alumina, and hydroxyl...

Local Dye Concentration and Spectroscopic Properties of Monomer−Aggregate Systems in Hybrid Porous Nanolayers
PublicationAnalysis of absorption, fluorescence, and time-resolved emission spectra of rhodamine 6G in hybrid porous nanolayers at high dye concentration allowed identification of two fluorescent species: monomers and fluorescent aggregates. The method of determination of mean local concentration of aggregates in matrices is proposed based on the energy transfer process between monomers and fluorescent aggregates. Evaluation of aggregate...

The effect of TiO2 particles on kinetics of cathodic electrodeposition has been studied by linear sweep voltammetry and chronopotentiometry. As compared to the Cu–Sn alloy, the Cu–Sn–TiO2 composite coatings show rougher surfaces with TiO2 agglomerates embedded in the metal matrix. The highest...

FATE OF LAS SURFACT ANTS IN WWTPs BASED ON MEASURED CONCENTRATIONS IN WASTEWATER AND SLUDGE
PublicationThe fate of the surfactant LAS in the two different types of Waste Water Treatment Plants has been reviewed: the small “Swarzewo” WWTP (45 000 PE), and large WWTP “Wschód” (760 000 PE). The elimination of LAS from the water stream in Swarzewo (98,7%), is better than that found in Gdańsk (97,6%). In the sludge treatment course, the reduction of LAS in Swarzewo is greater than that in Gdańsk due to the greater biodegradation of LAS...
