Optimization and Modeling of Cr (VI) Removal from Tannery Wastewater onto Activated Carbon Prepared from Coffee Husk and Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) as Activating Agent by Using Central Composite Design (CCD)
PublikacjaThe primary goal of this research is to lower the hexavalent chromium (Cr (VI)) concentration that has occurred from the growth of the tannery industry. As a result, the potential for heavy metal concentration is increasing day by day. Industrial effluent containing Cr (VI) contributes significantly to water pollution. Chromium hexavalent ion (Cr (VI)) in wastewater is extremely hazardous to the environment. It is critical to address...

Smart Approach for Glioma Segmentation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging using Modified Convolutional Network Architecture (U-NET)
PublikacjaSegmentation of a brain tumor from magnetic resonance multimodal images is a challenging task in the field of medical imaging. The vast diversity in potential target regions, appearance and multifarious intensity threshold levels of various tumor types are few of the major factors that affect segmentation results. An accurate diagnosis and its treatment demand strict delineation of the tumor affected tissues. Herein, we focus on...

Drug resistance, adverse side effects and high rate of angiogenesis, metastasis and tumor relapse remain one of the greatest challenges in long-term management of CRC and urges need for new leads of anticancer drugs. We demonstrate that CRC...

Scalable Maintenance of Address Mapping and Autodetecion in Environments Where Agents are Uncapable of Self-Registration
PublikacjaWhen working with multi-agent systems it is often desirable to manage the agent set. The existing methods of central monitoring stems from two different fields of application. The first has its roots in in computer network monitoring, the other in mutli-agent simulation environments. Both approaches are not general enough to cater for loosely controlled environments, where the total agent population is not known and often fluctuating,...

Deterministic rendezvous of asynchronous bounded-memory agents in polygonal terrains
PublikacjaWe consider two versions of the rendezvous problem: exact RV, when the points representing agents have to coincide at some time, and e-RV, when these points have to get at distance less than e in the terrain. In any terrain, each agent chooses its trajectory, but the movements of the agent on this trajectory are controlled by an adversary that may, e.g. speed up or slow down the agent.

Consolidating logs in varying formats into a structured repository = konsolidacja logów w zmiennych formatach do strukturalnego repozytorium
PublikacjaDuring multi-agent systems development, testing and re- search, possibly voluminous logs are created at distributed agent loca-tions. These logs describe individual agents behavior and state changes. To get the complete picture of the multi-agent system working, it is necessary to consolidate these logs and to store them in a format appropriate for diverse analyzes. Specic issues arise during consolidation if the log formats are...

Imidazoacridinone-dependent lysosomal photodestruction: a pharmacological Trojan horse approach to eradicate multidrug-resistant cancers
PublikacjaMultidrug resistance (MDR) remains a primary hindrance to curative cancer therapy. Thus, introduction of novel strategies to overcome MDR is of paramount therapeutic significance. Sequestration of chemotherapeutics in lysosomes is an established mechanism of drug resistance. Here, we show that MDR cells display a marked increase in lysosome number. We further demonstrate that imidazoacridinones (IAs), which are cytotoxic fluorochromes,...

ANALYSIS OF THE p53 PROTEIN GENE EXPRESSION MODEL
PublikacjaWe study the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions of the p53-Mdm2 model proposed by Monk (2003). The p53 gene is crucial for cellular inhibition of the angiogenesis process, while Mdm2 is a negative regulator of the p53 tumor-suppressor. We investigate the stability of the positive steady state and perform some numerical experiments.

Strongly anisotropic surface elasticity and antiplane surface waves
PublikacjaWithin the new model of surface elasticity, the propagation of anti-plane surface waves is discussed. For the proposed model, the surface strain energy depends on surface stretching and on changing of curvature along a preferred direction.
