Dynamical description of quantum computing: generic nonlocality of quantumnoise
PublikacjaWe develop a dynamical non-Markovian description of quantum computing in the weak-coupling limit, in the lowest-order approximation. We show that the long-range memory of the quantum reservoir (such as the 1/t4 one exhibited by electromagnetic vacuum) produces a strong interrelation between the structure of noise and the quantum algorithm, implying nonlocal attacks of noise. This shows that the implicit assumption of quantum error...

Positive solutions to boundary value problems for impulsive second-order differential equations
PublikacjaIn this paper, we discuss four-point boundary value problems for impulsive second-order differential equations. We apply the Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem to obtain sufficient conditions under which the impulsive second-order differential equations have positive solutions. An example is added to illustrate theoretical results.

Rapid design closure of linear microstrip antenna array apertures using response features
PublikacjaA simple yet reliable approach to a rapid design closure of linear antenna array apertures at the electromagnetic (EM)-simulation level is proposed. Our methodology exploits an underlying array factor (AF) model suitably corrected by means of characteristic points (angles and levels) of the radiation pattern of the EM model of the antenna array aperture. This conveniently allows for controlling both the side lobe levels...

Efficient Use of Capital: Paradox of Real Estate and Industry in Turkey
PublikacjaIn recent years, one of the hottest debates on Turkish economy is the conflict on resource allocation between real estate and industry sectors. The debate was so intense that ex-minister of Economy Mr. Ali Babacan declared his opinions. Mr. Babacan’s statements about the creation of fixed capital by the private sector is not promising, and private sector fixed capital expenditures are not in the desired level. This situation is...

Quadratic stochastic operators on Banach lattices
PublikacjaWe study the convergence of iterates of quadratic stochastic operators that are mean monotonic. They are defined on the convex set of probability measures concentrated on a weakly compact order interval S = [0, f] of a fixed Banach lattice F. We study their regularity and identify the limits of trajectories either as the “infimum” or “supremum” of the support of initial distributions.

Suppression of distortions in signals received from Doppler sensor for vehicle speed measurement
PublikacjaDoppler sensors are commonly used for movement detection and speed measurement. However, electromagnetic interference and imperfections in sensor construction result in degradation of the signal to noise ratio. As a result, detection of signals reflected from moving objects becomes problematic. The paper proposes an algorithm for reduction of distortions and noise in the signal received from a simple, dual-channel type of a Doppler...

Shub’s conjecture for smooth longitudinal maps of S^m
PublikacjaLet f be a smooth map of the m-dimensional sphere Sm to itself, preserving the longitudinal foliation. We estimate from below the number of fixed points of the iterates of f , reduce Shub’s conjecture for longitudinal maps to a lower dimensional classical version, and prove the conjecture in case m = 2 and in a weak form for m = 3.

Positive solutions to advanced fractional differential equations with nonlocal boundary conditions
PublikacjaWe study the existence of positive solutions for a class of higher order fractional differential equations with advanced arguments and boundary value problems involving Stieltjes integral conditions. The fixed point theorem due to Avery-Peterson is used to obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of multiple positive solutions. Certain of our results improve on recent work in the literature.

Attractors of dissipative homeomorphisms of the infinite surface homeomorphic to a punctured sphere
PublikacjaA class of dissipative orientation preserving homeomorphisms of the infinite annulus, pairs of pants, or generally any infinite surface homeomorphic to a punctured sphere isconsidered. We prove that in some isotopy classes the local behavior of such homeomor-phisms at a fixed point, namely the existence of so-called inverse saddle, impacts thetopology of the attractor — it cannot be arcwise connected

Exploring the Beam Squint Effects on Reflectarray Perfromance: A Comprehensive Analysis of the Specular and Scattered Reflection of the Unit Cell
PublikacjaIn this article, the phenomena of beam deviation in reflectarray is discussed. The radiation pattern of the unit cell, which plays a vital role in shaping the beam of the reflectarray, is analyzed by considering undesired specular and scattered reflections. These unwanted reflections adversely affect the pattern of the single unit cell, thereby reducing the overall performance of the reflectarray. To conduct our investigations,...

The computational complexity of the backbone coloring problem for bounded-degree graphs with connected backbones
PublikacjaGiven a graph G, a spanning subgraph H of G and an integer λ>=2, a λ-backbone coloring of G with backbone H is a vertex coloring of G using colors 1, 2, ..., in which the color difference between vertices adjacent in H is greater than or equal to lambda. The backbone coloring problem is to find such a coloring with maximum color that does not exceed a given limit k. In this paper, we study the backbone coloring problem for bounded-degree...

Functional delay fractional equations
PublikacjaIn this paper, we discuss functional delay fractional equations. A Banach fixed point theorem is applied to obtain the existence (uniqueness) theorem. We also discuss such problems when a delay argument has a form α(t) = αt, 0 < α < 1, by Rusing the method of successive approximations. Some existence results are also formulated in this case. An example illustrates the main result.

Gas selectivity enhancement by sampling-and-hold method in resistive gas sensors
PublikacjaCommercial resistive gas sensors exhibit various sensitivity to numerous gases when working at different elevated temperatures. That effect is due to a change in velocity of adsorption and desorption processes which can be modulated by temperature.
