PublikacjaW pracy analizowano poziom i głębię ubóstwa w Polsce w okresie przemian ustrojowych. Stwierdzono, że nie jest możliwa ocena ubóstwa w całym okresie transformacji z uwagi na nieporównywalność danych z podokresów 1989-1992, 1993-1997 oraz z okresu po 1997r. Dla podokresu 1993-1997 oraz 1998-2003 nie zaobserwowano wzrostu skali i głębi ubóstwa. Zatem mitem jest pogląd o pogłębiającej się sferze ubóstwa w okresie transformacji.
