Local impedance imaging of boron-doped polycrystalline diamond thin films
PublicationLocal impedance imaging (LII) was used to visualise surficial deviations of AC impedances in polycrystalline boron-doped diamond (BDD). The BDD thin film electrodes were deposited onto the highly doped silicon substrates via microwave plasma-enhanced CVD. The studied boron dopant concentrations, controlled by the [B]/[C] ratio in plasma, ranged from 1 × 1016 to 2 × 1021 atoms cm−3. The BDD films displayed microcrystalline structure,...

Toward Human Chromosome Knowledge Engine
PublicationHuman chromosomes carry genetic information about our life. Chromosome classification is crucial for karyotype analysis. Existing chromosome classification methods do not take into account reasoning, such as: analyzing the relationship between variables, modeling uncertainty, and performing causal reasoning. In this paper, we introduce a knowledge engine for reasoning-based human chromosome classification that stores knowledge...

The quantitative structure property relationship (QSPR) and read-across techniques are proposed as methods to identify structural features of ILs (mixed with LiI/I2 redox couple), which have the most influence on the Seebeck coefficient (Se) values of the system. ILs consisting...

Comparison of Absorbed and Intercepted Fractions of PAR for Individual Trees Based on Radiative Transfer Model Simulations
PublicationThe fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation (fAPAR) is a key parameter for estimating the gross primary production (GPP) of trees. For continuous, dense forest canopies, fAPAR, is often equated with the intercepted fraction, fIPAR. This assumption is not valid for individual trees in urban environments or parkland settings where the canopy is sparse and there are well-defined tree crown boundaries. Here, the distinction...

General route for the synthesis of terminal phosphanylphosphido complexes of Zr(IV) and Hf(IV): Structural investigations of the first zirconium complex with a phosphanylphosphido ligand
PublicationReactions of R2P-P(SiMe3)Li with [Cp2MCl2] (M = Zr, Hf) in hydrocarbons yield the related terminal phosphanylphosphidocomplexes [Cp2M(Cl){(Me3Si)P-PR2-jP1}] (R = iPr and tBu). The solid state structures of [Cp2M(Cl){P(SiMe3)-PiPr2-jP1}] (M = Zr, Hf) were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Formation of polyphosphorus ligands mediated by zirconium and hafnium complexes
PublicationThe reactions of R2P–P(SiMe3)Li (R = tBu, iPr, iPr2N) with [Cp2MCl2] (M = Zr, Hf), [Cp∗CpZrCl2] and [CpZrCl3] yielded polyphosphorus (mainly hexaphosphorus) compounds which can be viewed as intermediates between R2P–P(SiMe3)Li and derivatives of 1,2,3,4-tetraphosphabicyclo[1.1.0] butane. Thus R2P–P(SiMe3)Li can act as a building block for the formation of the P2 ligand and the R2P–P(P2) and R2P–P(P2)P–PR2 moieties. Solid state...
