AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO PREDICTION ENERGETIC EFFECTS OF WOOD CUTTING PROCESS WITH CIRCULAR-SAW BLADES
PublicationIn the classical approach, energetic effects (cutting forces and cutting power) of wood sawing process are generally calculated on the basis of the specific cutting resistance, which is in the case of wood cutting the function of more or less important factors. The aim of the paper is to present a new calculating model using the application of modern fracture mechanics and to compare cutting parameters of native beech, Bendywood...

New approaches to cutting resistance estimation of wood cutting process with circular-saw blades
PublicationTheoretical and experimental determination of values of cutting resistance belongs to the basic and simultaneously the most developed field of mechanics of this process. Energetic effects of wood sawing process are mainly calculated on the basis of the specific cutting resistance which, in wood cutting, is a function on a lot of factors. In this paper new method for calculation of cutting resistance is described. The latter method...

THE USE OF FEM FOR DETERMINATION OF RESONANT FREQUENCIES OF CIRCULAR SAW BLADES WITH INDIRECT TEETH IN GULLETS
PublicationUnderstanding the dynamical properties of the circular saw blade is necessary, since, there is a really need for a stable work at working rotational speeds, which are determined by frequencies at which the circular saw blade tends to vibrate. It was observed that the resonant frequency depend on the circular saw blade shape, a collar diameter and on saw’s teeth shape. In the presented work an attention was paid to the effect of...

Buckling of frame braced by linear elastic springs
PublicationIn the design codes and specifications, simplifed formulae or diagrams are given for determining the buckling lengths of frame columns based on the ruling criterion of considering frames as sway or non sway. Due to the fact that, the code formulae utilize onlylocal stifness distributions, these formulae may yield in certain cases rather erroneous results. In most code formulas a case of weakly braced frames is usually not considered.In...

Multi-headed chimera states in coupled pendula
PublicationWe discuss the occurrence of the chimera states in the network of coupled, excited by the clock’s mechanisms pendula. We find the patterns of multi-headed chimera states in which pendula clustered in different heads behave differently (oscillate with different frequencies) and create different types of synchronous states (complete or phase synchronization). The mathematical model of the network shows that the observed chimera states...

PublicationThere are two main approaches to processing tasks requiring high amounts of computational power. One approach is using clusters of mostly identical hardware, placed in dedicated locations [1, 2, 3]. The other approach is outsourcing computing resources from large numbers of volunteers connected to the Internet [7]. This chapter presents an application of a mathematical model of the volunteer computing presented in Volume 1 of this...

Publicationof a relatively large area formed by pulsed laser nanostructuring of thin gold films arereported and discussed. The SEM inspection of modified electrodes reveals the presence of the nearlyspherical and disc-shaped particles of dimensions in the range of 40–120 nm. The NP-array geometry canbe controlled by selection of the laser processing conditions. It is shown that particle size and packingdensity of the array are important factors...
