  • A 3D lattice model to describe fracture process in fibrous concrete
    Publication

    - Year 2010

  • A few steps more towards NPT bound entanglement
    Publication

    - IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION THEORY - Year 2010

In this paper, existence of bound entangled states with nonpositive partial transpose (NPT) is considered. As one knows, existence of such states would in particular imply nonadditivity of distillable entanglement. Moreover, it would rule out a simple mathematical description of the set of distillable states. The particular state, known to be 1-copy nondistillable and supposed to be bound entangled, is considered. The problem of...

  • A hartree-fock approach to the steklov eigenproblem for a two-electron atom in an s2 state

  • An orthogonality relation for the Whittaker functions of the second kind of imaginary order

Przeprowadzono dowód ortogonalności funkcji Whittakera drugiego rodzaju rzędu urojonego. Użyto metody analogicznej do tej, którą zaprezentowano we wcześniejszej pracy tych samych autorów [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 365 (2010) 195-197], poświęconej funkcjom Macdonalda rzędu urojonego.

  • Are quantum correlations symmetric?
    Publication

    - QUANTUM INFORMATION & COMPUTATION - Year 2010

We provide operational definition of symmetry of entanglement: An entangled state contains symmetric entanglement if its subsystems can be exchanged (swapped) by means of local operations and classical communication. We show that in general states have asymmetric entanglement. This allows to construct nonsymmetric measure of entanglement, and a parameter that reports asymmetry of entanglement contents of quantum state. We propose...

  • Aspects of multistation quantum information broadcasting
    Publication

We study quantum information transmission over multiparty quantum channel. In particular, we show an equivalence of different capacity notions and provide a multiletter characterization of a capacity region for a general quantum channel with k senders and m receivers. We point out natural generalizations to the case of two-way classical communication capacity. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

  • A Loophole of All ‘Loophole-Free’ Bell-Type Theorems
    Publication

Bell’s theorem cannot be proved if complementary measurements have to be represented by random variables which cannot be added or multiplied. One such case occurs if their domains are not identical. The case more directly related to the Einstein–Rosen–Podolsky argument occurs if there exists an ‘element of reality’ but nevertheless addition of complementary results is impossible because they are represented by elements from different...

  • A simple model of the trap-assisted recombination with the excitonic Auger mechanism

We present a simple model of the trap-assisted recombination combined with the excitonic Auger mechanism. It has been shown that only six independent transitions of electrons and holes should be taken into account to describe a combination of the Shockley–Read–Hall (SRH) recombination with this excitonic process. This is in opposition to a well-known model of the SRH mechanism with the free carriers Auger effect via deep states,...

  • An approach to constructing genuinely entangled subspaces of maximal dimension
    Publication

Genuinely entangled subspaces (GESs) are the class of completely entangled subspaces that contain only genuinely multiparty entangled states. They constitute a particularly useful notion in the theory of entanglement but also have found an application, for instance, in quantum error correction and cryptography. In a recent study (Demianowicz and Augusiak in Phys Rev A 98:012313, 2018), we have shown how GESs can be efficiently...

  • Analytical calculations of scattering lengths for a class of long-range potentials of interest for atomic physics

We derive two equivalent analytical expressions for an $l$th partial-wave scattering length $a_{l}$ for central potentials with long-range tails of the form % \begin{math} \displaystyle V(r)=-\frac{\hbar^{2}}{2m}\frac{Br^{n-4}}{(r^{n-2}+R^{n-2})^{2}} -\frac{\hbar^{2}}{2m}\frac{C}{r^{2}(r^{n-2}+R^{n-2})}, \end{math} % ($r\geqslant r_{s}$, $R>0$). % For $C=0$, this family of potentials reduces to the Lenz potentials discussed in...

  • Carboxylation Enhances Fragmentation of Furan upon Resonant Electron Attachment
    Publication

    - JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY A - Year 2020

We report a dissociative electron attachment study to 2-furoic acid (C5H4O3) isolated in a gas phase, which is a model molecule consisting of a carboxylic group and a furan ring. Dissociation of furan by low energy electrons is accessible only via electronic excited Feshbach resonances at energies of incident electrons above 5 eV. On the other hand, carboxylic acids are well- known to dissociate via attachment of electrons at subexcitation energies....

    - ENTROPY - Year 2020

This work presents the analysis of the conformation of albumin in the temperature range of 300K – 312K, i.e., in the physiological range. Using molecular dynamics simulations, we calculate values of the backbone and dihedral angles for this molecule. We analyze the global dynamic properties of albumin treated as a chain. In this range of temperature, we study parameters of the molecule and the conformational entropy derived from...

    - PHYSICAL REVIEW B - Year 2023

Single crystals of TmNiC2 were grown by the optical floating-zone technique and were investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal expansion, electrical resistivity, specific heat, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Single-crystal XRD reveals the formation of a commensurate charge density wave (CDW) characterized by a CDW modulation vector q2c = (0.5, 0.5, 0.5), which is accompanied by a symmetry change from the orthorhombic...
