Comparative analysis of the theoretical models of ideal propulsor, ideal fluid brake, ideal screw propeller and ideal axial wind turbine
PublikacjaThe article presents a detailed discussion of four different fluid dynamics devices.These devices are presented with all relevant mathematical formulae regarding the forces, the power and the efficiency. It is demonstrated that application of the Betz theorem to axial wind turbines is not correct and it underestimates the maximujm achievable efficiency. PublikacjaThe paper is devoted to the vortex valve. Existing devices are described by CFD-methods, or by means of simple empirical relations. A rational method of the considered object design is proposed, on the base of the input and dissipation energy balance., what gives a simple algebraic equation. Multi-core and Multiprocessor Implementation of Numerical Integration in Finite Element Method
PublikacjaThe paper presents techniques for accelerating a numerical integration process which appears in the Finite Element Method. The acceleration is achieved by taking advantages of multi-core and multiprocessor devices. It is shown that using multi-core implementation with OpenMP and a GPU acceleration using CUDA architecture allows one to achieve the speedups by a factor of 5 and 10 on a CPU and GPUs, respectively.
