Impact of the trap–assisted recombination in the perovskite solar cells
PublikacjaTo achieve the highest performance using perovskite solar cells it is necessary to understand all the dominant mechanisms which affect the operation of solar cell. Here, we have investigated the bulk and interface trap–assisted recombination processes in the solar cells with p–i–n architecture. These studies are based on the numerical and experimental methods to get better understanding of these physical processes. The following results...

Exploring the interfacial effects at the ETL/perovskite boundary in the semitransparent perovskite solar cells
PublikacjaThe recent focus has been made on the perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with an inverted configuration, where substantial improvements have been already achieved. However, the p–i–n structure needs a buffer layer for most of the configurations to modify the work-function of a deposited electrode. Additionally and very importantly, such a layer can also serve as a protective film that improves a stability of solar cells. Here, we study...

Light intensity analysis of photovoltaic parameters for perovskite solar cells
PublikacjaThe number of publications on perovskite solar cells (PSC) continues to grow exponentially. Although the efficiency of PSC is exceeded 25.5%, not every research laboratory can reproduce this result or even pass the border of 20%. Unfortunately, it is not always clear which dominating mechanism is responsible for the performance drop. Here, we develop a simple method of light intensity analysis of JV parameters allowing the understanding...

Bias-Dependent Dynamics of Degradation and Recovery in Perovskite Solar Cells
PublikacjaDegradation of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is often found to be partially or fully reversible when the cells are allowed to recover in the dark. Unlike the dynamics of degradation, knowledge about the dynamics of PSC cell recovery is very limited. Here, we demonstrate that the PSC recovery strongly depends on the electrical bias conditions during the light-induced degradation and that it can be manipulated by applying an external...

This effect can be explained by taking into account that the photogeneration of charge carriers occurs via the electron-hole pair dissociation and the space charge effects...

Four-body recombination in organic bulk heterojunction solar cells: an alternative interpretation

This is in opposition to the treatment of this effect as a three-particle...

Obróbka chemiczna krzemowych ogniw słonecznych jako najważniejszy etap w recyklingu modułów fotowoltaicznych = Chemical treatment of the crystalline silicon solar cells as the main stage of PV modules recycling
Skład roztworów trawiących dostosowywano do różnych rodzajów ogniw krzemowych. W celu opracowania uniwersalnej kąpieli trawiącej konieczne jest wprowadzanie pewnych modyfikacji...

Recovery of silver metallization from damaged silicon cells
PublikacjaMetallization is one of the key process steps to fabricate solar cells with high performance in a cost-effective way. Majority of photovoltaic solar cell manufacturing uses thick film screen print metallization with Ag containing paste to produce solar cells. The average lifetime of PV modules can be expected to be more than 25 years. The disposal of PV systems will become a problem in view of the continually increasing production...

The use of recycled semiconductor material in crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules production - A life cycle assessment of environmental impacts
PublikacjaTo offset the negative impact of photovoltaic modules on the environment, it is necessary to introduce a longterm strategy that includes a complete lifecycle assessment of all system components from the production phase through installation and operation to disposal. Recycling of waste products and worn-out systems is an important element of this strategy. As the conclusions from the previous studies have shown, thermal treatment...

Impact of dyes isomerization effect on the charge transfer phenomenon occurring on the dye/nanosemiconductor interface
PublikacjaThe present work aimed to find the answer how does the isomerization of the Ru based dyes affect the overall photon-to-current efficiency of the DSSCs and to explain the charge transfer phenomenon occurring on the dye/ nanosemiconductor interface. Therefore, electronic and optical properties of three bipyridine derivatives anchored on the TiO2 electrode were investigated by computational simulations based on quantum chemistry codes...

Understanding the Electronic Structure and Optical Properties of Vacancy-Ordered Double Perovskite A2BX6 for Optoelectronic Applications
PublikacjaOver the past few years, metal halide perovskite solar cells have made significant advances. Currently, the single-junction perovskite solar cells reach a conversion efficiency of 25.7%. Perovskite solar cells with a wide band gap can also be used as top absorber layers in multi-junction tandem solar cells. We examined the dynamical and thermal stability, electronic structure, and optical features of In2PtX 6 (X = Cl, Br, and I)...

The domination of ionic conductivity in tetragonal phase of the organometal halide perovskite CH3NH3PbI3-xClx
PublikacjaOrganometal trihalide perovskites have recently gained extreme attention due to their high solar energy conversion in photovoltaic cells. Here, we investigate the contribution of iodide ions to a total conductivity of the mixed lead halide perovskite CH3NH3PbI3−xClx with a use of the modified DC Hebb–Wagner polarization method. It has been identified that an ionic conductivity dominates in tetragonal phase which is associated with room...

Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(zwitterionic) Structures for Energy Conversion and Storage
PublikacjaZwitterions are unique class of molecules that possess two functional groups bearing electric charges, one positive and second negative. This setup results in peculiar properties such as high water retention and anti-fouling capability. Therefore, zwitterionic coatings and gels are commonly applied in e.g. biosensing and bioelectronic devices. Despite those applications, there are other perspectives for zwitterionic materials....
