Splice variants of mitofusin 2 shape the endoplasmic reticulum and tether it to mitochondria
PublikacjaIn eukaryotic cells, different organelles interact at membrane contact sites stabilized by tethers. Mitochondrial mitofusin 2 (MFN2) acts as a membrane tether that interacts with an unknown partner on the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). In this work, we identified the MFN2 splice variant ERMIT2 as the ER tethering partner of MFN2. Splicing of MFN2 produced ERMIT2 and ERMIN2, two ER-specific variants. ERMIN2 regulated ER morphology,...

A space-efficient algorithm for computing the minimum cycle mean in a directed graph
PublikacjaAn algorithm is introduced for computing the minimum cycle mean in a strongly connected directed graph with n vertices and m arcs that requires O(n) working space. This is a considerable improvement for sparse graphs in comparison to the classical algorithms that require O(n^2) working space. The time complexity of the algorithm is still O(nm). An implementation in C++ is made publicly available at http://www.pawelpilarczyk.com/cymealg/.

Fast tolerance-aware design optimization of miniaturized microstrip couplers using variable-fidelity EM simulations and re-sponse features
PublikacjaManufacturing tolerances and other types of uncertainties may considerably affect operation and performance of microwave components and systems. Quantification of these effects is therefore an important part of the design process. It is even more important to obtain designs whose sensitivity to parameter deviations is reduced as much as possible.
