The Effect of Water and Frost on Fatigue Life of Asphalt Concrete
PublicationThis paper presents testing of fatigue life of asphalt concrete that has been subjected to action of water and frost. Simulation of water and frost action was based on the original AASHTO T283 method and its modification. Debonding Detection in Reinforced Concrete Beams with the Use of Guided Wave Propagation
PublicationOne of the most frequent damage of the reinforced concrete structures is debonding between steel bar and concrete cover. In the case of debonding occurrence not only the strength of the structure decreases, but also it is more vulnerable to corrosion damages. For this reason fast and effective methods of debonding detection in an early stage of its development need a significant boost. The paper presents analytical and experimental...

The core and valence electrons after cleavage of a single crystal, either in a ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) or in air, are studied by keeping the samples at 150 1C, aiming at confirming the atomic composition with respect to the expected bulk atomic structure. A common spectroscopic denominator revealed by data is the presence of...

Quantum-correlation breaking channels, broadcasting scenarios, and finite Markov chains
PublicationOne of the classical results concerning quantum channels is the characterization of entanglementbreakingchannels [M. Horodecki et al., Rev. Math. Phys 15, 629 (2003)]. We address the questionwhether there exists a similar characterization on the level of quantum correlations which may gobeyond entanglement. The answer is fully affirmative in the case of breaking quantum correlationsdown to the, so called, QC (Quantum-Classical)...

Method for the correlation coefficient estimation of the bottom echo signal in the shallow water application using interferometric echo sounder
PublicationThe article presents a new method for the assessment of bottom echo correlation coefficient in the presence of multiple echoes. Bottom correlation coefficient is a parameter that characterizes spatial properties of echo signal. Large variability of the bottom shape or properties (for example caused by the presence of bottom objects) and the presence of the acoustic shadow strongly influence the value of the correlation coefficient....

This method is described, in the literature, as exfoliation, however, based on the results obtained, we cannot say unequivocally that we have obtained an exfoliated material. Nevertheless, the proposed modification procedure clearly affects the morphology of WO3 and leads to loss...
