Analysis of a caustic formed by a spherical reflector: Impact of a caustic on architectural acoustics
PublikacjaFocusing sound in rooms intended for listening to music or speech is an acoustic defect. Design recommendations provide remedial steps to effectively prevent this. However, there is a category of objects of high historical or architectural value in which the sound focus correction is limited or even abandoned. This also applies to indoor or outdoor concert shells, installations for teaching and acoustic presentations, etc. The...

On instabilities and post-buckling of piezomagnetic and flexomagnetic nanostructures
PublikacjaWe focus on the mechanical strength of piezomagnetic beam-like nanosize sensors during post-buckling. An effective flexomagnetic property is also taken into account. The modelled sensor is selected to be a Euler-Bernoulli type beam. Due to possible large deformations within a post-buckling phenomenon,...

The corresponding size-dependent approach is underlying as a second strain gradient theory. Small deformations of elastic solids are assessed, and the mathematical discussion is linear. Regardless of the pyromagnetic effects, the thermal loading of the thermal...

Effect of adhesive compliance in the assessment of soft adhesives with the wedge test
PublikacjaWedge tests are usually analysed assuming that the free, unbonded members may be treated as encastré cantilever beams. Using in conjunction a sensitive strain gauge method on asymmetric wedge tests and a mathematical analysis...
