A Tutorial on AGREEprep an Analytical Greenness Metric for Sample Preparation
PublikacjaSample preparation is a key step in the analytical procedure and a critical component for achieving analytical greenness. AGREEprep is the first metric intended for evaluating the environmental impact of sample preparation methods. The approach consists of ten steps of assessment that correspond to the ten principles of green sample preparation and uses a user-friendly open-source software to calculate and visualize the results....

Analytical tools for functional assessment of architectural layouts
PublikacjaFunctional layout of the building, understood as a layout or set of the facility rooms (or groups of rooms) with a system of internal communication, creates an environment and a place of mutual relations between the occupants of the object. Achieving optimal (from the occupants’ point of view) spatial arrangement is possible through activities that often go beyond the stage of architectural design. Adopted in the architectural...

A standard analytical method as the common good and pollution abatement measure
PublikacjaA standard method can be considered as a common-good “resource,” and the solution to “the commons” problems usually lies in societal self-organization. The multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) was applied to model complex phenomena, such as the standard selection for imidacloprid determination. In this process, the standard was self-selected by the analytical chemistry society. The results show that analytical chemistry is a...

Analytical Techniques Used in Monitoring of Atmospheric Air Pollutants
PublikacjaThe air pollution monitoring is one of the most pressing environmental problems today. The paper describes common air pollutants, their interaction and impact on the environment, and classifies the techniques and methods applied in air studies. Furthermore, the review characterizes the selected collection and sampling techniques used for gas sample analysis. Finally, the schematic diagrams of typical designs of systems applied...

Analytical design of stable delta-domain generalized predictive control
PublikacjaPraca dotyczy analitycznej metody projektowania układów sterowania skalarnymi (SISO) obiektami czasu ciągłego według strategii uogólnionego sterowania predykcyjnego (GPC) w oparciu o dyskretnoczasowe modele takich obiektów. Założono wykorzystanie numeryczne odpornych modeli opartych o tak zwany operator delta. Przyjmując kwadratowy funkcjonał kosztów, w którym prognozowany przebieg przyszłego wyjścia sterowanego obiektu porównywany...

Amygdalin: Toxicity, Anticancer Activity and Analytical Procedures for Its Determination in Plant Seeds
PublikacjaAmygdalin (D-Mandelonitrile 6-O--D-glucosido--D-glucoside) is a natural cyanogenic glycoside occurring in the seeds of some edible plants, such as bitter almonds and peaches. It is a medically interesting but controversial compound as it has anticancer activity on one hand and can be toxic via enzymatic degradation and production of hydrogen cyanide on the other hand. Despite numerous contributions on cancer cell lines, the clinical...

An analytical approach to determine the health benefits and health risks of consuming berry juices
PublikacjaFood products composition analysis is a prerequisite for verification of product quality, fulfillment of regulatory enforcements, checking compliance with national and international food standards, contracting specifications, and nutrient labeling requirements and providing quality assurance for use of the product for the supplemen- tation of other foods. These aspects also apply to the berry fruit and berry juice. It also must...

Direct modulation for conventional matrix converters using analytical signals and barycentric coordinates
PublikacjaThis paper proposes the generalized direct modulation for Conventional Matrix Converters (CMC) using the concept of analytical signals and barycentric coordinates. The paper proposes a novel approach to the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) duty cycle computing, which allows faster prototyping of direct control algorithms. The explanation of the new idea using analytical considerations demonstrating the principles of direct voltage...
