Fourier transforms on Cantor sets: A study in non-Diophantine arithmetic and calculus
PublikacjaFractals equipped with intrinsic arithmetic lead to a natural definition of differentiation, integration, and complex structure. Applying the formalism to the problem of a Fourier transform on fractals we show that the resulting transform has all the required basic properties. As an example we discuss a sawtooth signal on the ternary middle-third Cantor set. The formalism works also for fractals that are not self-similar.

Multiple-channel frequency-adaptive active vibration control using SONIC
PublikacjaSONIC (self-optimizing narrowband interference canceller) is an acronym of a new approach to rejection of sinusoidal disturbances acting at the output of a discretetime stable linear plant with unknown and possibly timevarying dynamics. The paper presents two frequency-adaptive extensions of the multivariate SONIC algorithm. The efficacy of the proposed solutions is tested using our laboratory-scale active vibration control plant.

The Method of reduction of aerodynamic forces generated in turbine blade seals
PublikacjaThe distibution of pressure in the seal gaps does not only affect the so called '' leakage losses'' and the turbine stage overall efficiency but also plays an important role in the generation of aerodynamic forces which may cause self-excited rotor vibrations. Extraction of antenna pattern from near field antenna measurements distorted by undesired emission
PublikacjaIn this paper authors present experimental correction of antenna pattern obtained from near field measurements when they are distorted by determined electromagnetic emission. Such situation may be met e.g. when feeding or supply subsystem interacts with antenna radiation pattern due to self-emission. Presented results of experiments show effectiveness of extraction of antenna pattern utilizing near field antenna measurements.

Wear of Ultra-thin DLC or Tungsten-modified DLC Coatings under Reciprocating Sliding
PublikacjaIn the paper results are presented from tests in reciprocating sliding of self mated specimens of DLC and tungsten modified DLC coatings on stainless steel substrate. The contact geometry chosen for the research task was ball on flat. The contacts were lubricated either with distilled water or medical saline solution. Results are presented with regard to wear resistance as a function of material type and lubricant used.
