Variable Ratio Sample Rate Conversion Based on Fractional Delay Filter
PublikacjaIn this paper a sample rate conversion algorithm which allows for continuously changing resampling ratio has been presented. The proposed implementation is based on a variable fractional delay filter which is implemented by means of a Farrow structure. Coefficients of this structure are computed on the basis of fractional delay filters which are designed using the offset window method. The proposed approach allows us to freely...

Objectivity in a Noisy Photonic Environment through Quantum State Information Broadcasting
PublikacjaRecently, the emergence of classical objectivity as a property of a quantum state has been explicitly derived for a small object embedded in a photonic environment in terms of a spectrum broadcast form—a specific classically correlated state, redundantly encoding information about the preferred states of the object in the environment. However, the environment was in a pure state and the fundamental problem was how generic and robust...

Dynamical objectivity in quantum Brownian motion
PublikacjaClassical objectivity as a property of quantum states —a view proposed to explain the observer-independent character of our world from quantum theory, is an important step in bridging the quantum-classical gap. It was recently derived in terms of spectrum broadcast structures for small objects embedded in noisy photon-like environments. However, two fundamental problems have arisen: a description of objective motion and applicability...

Risk Management in "Agile" methodologies using the example of Scrum and the IBM Rational Team Concert tool
PublikacjaProject risk is one of the key areas which should be subjected to a thorough analysis in any IT project. Project managers undertake steps to minimize risks, both in terms of organization (matching people to tasks or roles) as well as in terms of technology (using appropriate tools for the management and execution of tasks). Every method of project management defines and describes the processes and techniques related to knowledge...

Central-force decomposition of spline-based modified embedded atom method potential
PublikacjaCentral-force decompositions are fundamental to the calculation of stress fields in atomic systems by means of Hardy stress. We derive expressions for a central-force decomposition of the spline-based modified embedded atom method (s-MEAM) potential. The expressions are subsequently simplified to a form that can be readily used in molecular-dynamics simulations, enabling the calculation of the spatial distribution of stress in...

Synchronized six-step voltage generation in high-speed PMSM drive
PublikacjaSynchronized voltage generation has already been considered in the context of pulse width modulation (PWM). References prove that synchronized PWM substantially decreases subharmonics in inverter output voltage when operating with low switching-to-fundamental frequency ratio. This paper identifies problems of unsynchronized voltage generation in electric drives under six-step inverter operation. Guidelines for the synchronization...

Selfish Attacks in Two-Hop IEEE 802.11 Relay Networks: Impact and Countermeasures
PublikacjaIn IEEE 802.11 networks, selfish stations can pursue a better quality of service through selfish MAC-layer attacks. Such attacks are easy to perform, secure routing protocols do not prevent them, and their detection may be complex. Two-hop relay topologies allow a new angle of attack: a selfish relay can tamper with either source traffic, transit traffic, or both. We consider the applicability of selfish attacks and their variants...
