The device is extremely compact and occupies an area more than three times smaller than similar structures recently reported in the literature. The novelty of the device lies in the use of microstrip/slotline transitions for both input ports: summation...

Generalization of Kramers-Krönig relations for evaluation of causality in power-law media
PublicationClassical Kramers-Krönig (K–K) relations connect real and imaginary parts of the frequency-domain response of a system. The K–K relations also hold between the logarithm of modulus and the argument of the response, e.g. between the attenuation and the phase shift of a solution to a wave-propagation problem. For square-integrable functions of frequency, the satisfaction of classical K–K relations implies causality in the time domain....

On trees with double domination number equal to 2-outer-independent domination number plus one
PublicationA vertex of a graph is said to dominate itself and all of its neighbors. A double dominating set of a graph G is a set D of vertices of G such that every vertex of G is dominated by at least two vertices of D. The double domination number of a graph G is the minimum cardinality of a double dominating set of G. For a graph G=(V,E), a subset D subseteq V(G) is a 2-dominating set if every vertex of V(G)D has at least two neighbors...

Simulation of large thrust-bearing performance at transient states, warm and cold start-up
PublicationThe start-up of a large hydrodynamic thrust bearing of a vertical hydrogenerator is one of the most critical situations during the lifetime of a bearing. A combination of finite elements method and computational fluid dynamics is used to perform the transient...
