Interfacial water controls the process of adsorption of hyperactive antifreeze proteins onto the ice surface
PublicationA mechanism of interactions between the ice-binding surface of a hyperactive antifreeze protein molecule and the ice surface is proposed, involving the influence of water present between the two surfaces on the behavior of the approaching molecule. It is demonstrated that the interfacial water, even before its full solidification, can act as a factor that pushes away or pulls nearer the protein molecule to ensure its proper positioning....

PublicationW artykule pokazano doświadczalne wyniki badań procesu pękania w betonie stosując mikro-tomografię. Doświadczenia wykonano dla zginanych belek betonowych. Wyniki doświadczalne modelowano stosując MES na bazie modelu z degradacją sztywności sprężystej z nielokalnym osłabieniem. Beton symulowano jako materiał 4-fazowy. Uzyskano dobra zgodność wyników MES z doświadczeniami.

PublicationW artykule symulowano proces wyboczenia w cylindrycznych metalowych silosach z płaskich blach wypełnionych materiałem sypkim. Wykonano analizy nieliniowe stosując MES dla silosów pustych i napełnionych. Zbadano wpływ wstępnych imperfekcji geometrycznych na nośność wyboczeniowo. Wyniki porównano z wynikami doświadczalnymi w Uniwersytecie Karlsruhe.

PublicationArtykuł omawia wyniki modelowania procesu zarysowania w elementach betonowych zawierające stalowe włókna przy zastosowaniu dyskretnego modelu kratownicowego. Beton był modelowany na poziomie mezoskali z uwzględnieniem 5 faz: kruszywa, zaczynu cementowego, włókien i obu stref kontaktu. Obliczenia wykonano dla jednoosiowego ściskania, jednoosiowego rozciągania i zginania prostego.

Integrated production technology of cylindrical surfaces by turning and burnishing
PublicationThe method is based on a combination of previously used two separate operations namely machining and burnishing in a one complex operation implemented on a lathe.In the case of machining shafts and hydraulic cylinders of steel C45 is possible to obtain a surface roughness Ra=0,16 - 0,32 micrometers, dimensional accuracy class 7-8 according to ISO standards, and increase in the hardness of the surface up to 40%.
