W artykule...

Kształtowanie toru zwrotnego rozjazdu z odcinkami krzywizny liniowej
PublicationW pracy została przedstawiona analityczna metoda kształtowania toru zwrotnego rozjazdu kolejowego posiadającego na swojej długości odcinki krzywizny liniowej. Odróżnia go to w istotny sposób od rozwiązania typowego, stanowiącego pojedynczy łuk kołowy bez krzywych przejściowych. W metodzie tej dokonano identyfikacji problemu rozkładu krzywizny za pomocą równań różniczkowych. Uzyskane rozwiązania mają charakter uniwersalny; m. in....

Analysis of metals in air particles from Gdańsk and London with EDX/EDS detectors in electron microscope
PublicationElectron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX/EDS) is the example of non-destructive analytical method for surface elemental analysis, with a potential detection limit of 0.1-0.5 wt.% for most elements. A spatial resolution <10 nm can be achieved using this technique, which provides a basis for the generation of quantitative and qualitative elemental data for individual particles. In order to obtain quantitative...

On rotary inertia of microstuctured beams and variations thereof
PublicationWe discuss the classic rotary inertia notion and extend it for microstructured beams introducing new microinertia parameters as an additional dynamic response to microstructure changes. Slender structures made of beam- or platelet-lattice metamaterials may exhibit not only large translations and rotations but also general deformations of inner structure. Here we considered a few examples of beam-like structures and derive their...

Calculation of an ultimate load value of a silo with geometric imperfections in the shape of eigenforms
PublicationThe ultimate load value of a silo with initial geometric imperfections was measured. The structure was loaded with wind. Imperfections were assumed as translations of the shell nodes from perfect geometry taken from eigenforms and their combinations. Two variants of the maximum deflection placement with respect to the direction of wind pressure were proposed. The first consists in applying the maximum wind pressure to the element...

Physical and Thermophysical Properties of 1-Hexyl-1,4-diaza[2.2.2]bicyclooctanium Bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide Ionic Liquid
PublicationOwing to their unique properties, ionic liquids (ILs) have become a real alternative to organic compounds. Nowadays, ILs are commonly used in a number of areas such as chemical synthesis and separation techniques. However, ionic liquids continue to have a limited applicability in industry because the information on their physical and chemical properties is not readily available. This paper presents, for the first time, the results...

Polymer electrolytes with ionic liquids
PublicationSolid polymer electrolytes are solutions of salts in the macromolecular polymeric compound. Excellent process ability, flexibility, non-flammability and non-reactivity make them ideal materials for electrochemical devices. The problem in their use is limited conductivity. It increases with increasing salt concentration in the polymer, but at the same time the condition is to increase the glass transition temperature of the polymer...

Employees 50+: How They Are Assessed and How They Assess Themselves
PublicationIn Poland, the older workers are valued for their knowledge and professional experience. Many of them, during transition period, actively participated in the creation of today’ s businesses and now occupy exposed managerial positions, being aware of their own value. On the other hand, old age is one of the main reasons for the limited access to work. The seniors are assigned stereotypical characteristics, such as low levels of...
