Transport deficiency is the molecular basis of Candida albicans resistance to antifungal oligopeptides
Publication(FMDP), an inhibitor of glucosamine-6-phosphate synthase, exhibited growth inhibitory activity against Candida albicans, with minimal inhibitory concentration values in the 0.05–50 mg/L range. Uptake by the peptide permeases was found to be the main factor limiting an anticandidal activity of these compounds. Di- and tripeptide containing FMDP (F2 and F3) were transported by Ptr2p/Ptr22p peptide transporters (PTR) and FMDP-containing...

Trees having many minimal dominating sets
PublicationWe provide an algorithm for listing all minimal dominating sets of a tree of order n in time O(1.4656^n). This leads to that every tree has at most 1.4656^n minimal dominating sets. We also give an infinite family of trees of odd and even order for which the number of minimal dominating sets exceeds 1.4167^n, thus exceeding 2^{n/2}. This establishes a lower bound on the running time of an algorithm for listing all minimal dominating...

Easy formation of acyl-Meldrum's acid anhydride
PublicationAcyl Meldrum's acid are usually a good source of ketenes upon definite thermal composition. However we treated acyl-Meldrum's acid with the Lewis acid and we observed formation of 5[[(2,2-dimethyl-4,6-dioxo-1,3-dioxan 5 ylidene)(acyl/arylamino)mathoxy](acyl/arylamino)methylene]-2,2dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6 dione which means acyl-Meldrum's acid anhydride. The chemical properities of acyl-Meldrum's acid anhydride were explored.
