Badanie przydatności biosurfaktantów w procesie oczyszczania zaolejonych gruntów metodą przemywania
PublicationUsuwanie z gruntu nierozpuszczalnych w wodzie, ciekłych zanieczyszczeń organicznych(NAPL - Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid) osiąga wyższe efektywności, gdy stosuje się zamiast wody roztwory związków powierzchniowo czynnych. Z uwagi na mniejszą toksyczność i lepszą biodegradowalność biosurfaktantów w porównaniu do surfaktantów syntetycznych przeprowadzono modelowe badania solubilizacji mieszanin węglowodorów (dekan, dodekan, tetradekan,...

Planarność i zewnętrzna planarność grafów

Solvent-Free Synthesis of Phosphonic Graphene Derivative and Its Application in Mercury Ions Adsorption
PublicationFunctionalized graphene was efficiently prepared through ball-milling of graphite in the presence of dry ice. In this way, oxygen functional groups were introduced into material. The material was further chemically functionalized to produce graphene derivative with phosphonic groups. The obtained materials were characterized by spectroscopic and microscopic methods, along with thermogravimetric analysis. The newly developed material...

Monitoring the curing process of epoxy adhesive using ultrasound and Lamb wave dispersion curves
PublicationMonitoring the stiffness of adhesives is a crucial issue when considering the durability andstrength of adhesive joints. While there are many studies conducted on specimens madeonly from adhesive, the problem of curing of an adhesive film in real joints is moderatelyconsidered. This paper presents the monitoring of stiffening of epoxy adhesive using ultra-sound. Ultrasonic pulse velocity method was firstly applied for monitoring...

On the hat problem, its variations, and their applications
PublicationThe topic of our paper is the hat problem in which each of n players is randomly fitted with a blue or red hat. Then everybody can try to guess simultaneously his own hat color by looking at the hat colors of the other players. The team wins if at least one player guesses his hat color correctly, and no one guesses his hat color wrong; otherwise the team loses. The aim is to maximize the probability of a win. There are known many...

Dokładność skal ekwiwalentności a indyferencja stochastyczna
PublicationW pracy dowodzimy twierdzenia, które wiąże założenie dokładności skal ekwiwalentności (ESE) z symetrycznym czynnikiem dominacji stochastycznej pierwszego rzędu. Dokładniej, niech X i Y będą rozkładami wydatków, odpowiednio, analizowanej grupy gospodarstw domowych i grupy gospodarstw odniesienia. Niech Z oznacza rozkład X skorygowany za pomocą pewnej skali ekwiwalentności. Jeśli spełnione jest założenie ESE, to Z jest stochastyczne...

Measuring the density of DNA films using ultraviolet-visible interferometry
PublicationIn order to determine a proper value for the density of dry DNA films we have used a method based upon the measurement of interference effects in transmission spectra of thin DNA layers. Our results show that the methodology is effective and the density of DNA in this state, 1.407 g/cm3, is much lower than the commonly used 1.7 g/cm3. Obtaining accurate values for the DNA film density will allow the optical constants for DNA to...

Digital Fingerprinting based on Quaternion Encryption for Image Transmission
PublicationIn this paper a new digital fingerprinting scheme for images is proposed. A proposed method is based on quaternion encryption with Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode of operation. Quaternions are hyper-complex numbers of rank 4 and thus often applied to mechanics in three-dimensional space. The encryption algorithm is designed for grey-tone images. For purpose of encryption, the algorithm uses the rotation of data vectors presented...
