Understanding the role of the AOB/NOB competition in the nitrogen cycle in wastewater treatment systems will change operational strategies of the novel nitrogen removal processes. The...

SAWING PROCESS AS A NEW ALTERNATIVE WAY OF DETERMINING SOME WOOD PROPERTIES
PublikacjaCutting forces (power) could be considered from a point of view of modern fracture mechanics. The developed cutting model, derived from fracture mechanics, includes work of separation (fracture toughness) in addition to plasticity and friction, and also dullness of the cutting edge described by the cutting edge radius. Moreover, forecasting of the shear plane angle for the cutting models, broaden possibilities of energetic effects...

Hardware implementation of digital image stabilization using optical flow algorithm and FPGA technology

Review of Methods for Diagnosing the Degradation Process in Power Units Cooperating with Renewable Energy Sources Using Artificial Intelligence
PublikacjaThis work is based on a literature review (191). It mainly refers to two diagnostic methods based on artificial intelligence. This review presents new possibilities for using genetic algorithms (GAs) for diagnostic purposes in power plants transitioning to cooperation with renewable energy sources (RESs). The genetic method is rarely used directly in the modeling of thermal-flow analysis. However, this assignment proves that the...

Numerical aspects of improvement of the unsteady pipe flow equations

Two-dimensional vertical analysis of dam-break flow
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono matematyczne modelowanie przepływów ze swobodną powierzchnią w kanałach otwartych. Do symulacji przepływu użyto dwuwymiarowy pionowy model RANS. Wchodzące w skład modelu równania Naviera-Stokesa rozwiązano stosując algorytm SIMPLE dla metody różnic skończonych. Do śledzenia zmian swobodnego zwierciadła wody zastosowano metodę MAC. Analizie poddano szybkozmienny przepływ po poziomym, gładkim dnie wywołany...

Reduction of dynamic effects during granular flow in silos
PublikacjaOmówiono kilka efektywnych sposobów redukcji nadmiernych dynamicznych efektów występujących w przepływie silosowym w silosach modelowych. Sposoby te mogą być wykorzystane w praktyce silosowej.
