Comparison of the impact test and the harmonic test in measurements of natural resonant frequencies of circular saw blades
PublicationIn this paper results of measurements of natural resonant frequencies of circular saw blades with the impact test and the harmonic test are presented. Comparison of these two methods revealed that during testing of circular saw blades, in which bodies the open and closed notches (cuts) for cleaning of knives are present, with the harmonic test method it has been observed appearing of quasi-twin resonant frequencies, whereas the...

Settlement Networks in Polish Spatial Development Regional Plans
PublicationIn 1999, ten years after the great political changes in Poland, 16 self-governed regions (in Polish: voivodeship) were created. According to Polish law, voivodeship spatial development plans, or regional plans in short, determine basic elements of the settlement network. No detailed regulations indicate the specific elements of the settlement network or what features of these elements should be determined. For this reason, centres...

FPGA implementation of the multiplication operation in multiple-precision arithmetic
PublicationAlthough standard 32/64-bit arithmetic is sufficient to solve most of the scientific-computing problems, there are still problems that require higher numerical precision. Multiple-precision arithmetic (MPA) libraries are software tools for emulation of computations in a user-defined precision. However, availability of a reconfigurable cards based on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) in computing systems allows one to implement...

IP Core of Coprocessor for Multiple-Precision-Arithmetic Computations
PublicationIn this paper, we present an IP core of coprocessor supporting computations requiring integer multiple-precision arithmetic (MPA). Whilst standard 32/64-bit arithmetic is sufficient to solve many computing problems, there are still applications that require higher numerical precision. Hence, the purpose of the developed coprocessor is to support and offload central processing unit (CPU) in such computations. The developed digital...

Multicultural coastal cities: what are the differences in culture of urban planning management. Comparison analysis of Gdańsk and Gdynia
PublicationThe goal of this book chapter is the analysis of the multiculturalism of the seaside cities (Gdansk and Gdynia). We define multiculturalism by ethnic aspects, as concentration of multiple nationalities and ethnic groups over the given area and non ethnic aspects, as occurrence of multiple symbols, signs or cultures. We sense multiculturalism of the cities through the cultural and social properties of the citizens and urban architecture....

Novel Tools as New Challenges to HRM Communicational Practices (and the Increasingly Important Social Role of the Manager)
PublicationEach communicational process consists inseparably of three aspects: the linguistic (which means the whole language content of the message), technical (which states the form of the message) and the social (meaning social relations, emotions, behaviours). The recent COVID-19 pandemic deeply influenced several layers of our lives. But the main aim of this chapter is to focus on the communicational processes that normally take place...
